Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default Suspicions confirmed

We've all heard about Trent Lott (not a favorite of mine) and his pro-Dixiecrat (aka racist) comments. Well it seems that the censorship/resignation/removal from position drivel spewing forth from the mouths of democrats is nothing more than continued Sore-Looserman from the election.

A certain Democrat from Michigan, Carl Levin to be precise, had his own set of pro-Thurman Dixiecrat comments. Yes, you guessed it, no Democrat/NAACP/Liberal heard it because they have been totally silent about same.

Such is politics and our totally independent and objective press (bet The Guardian doesn't report the story either).

Although I do think that Trentie needed to watch what he said, it is true that the reason that democrats won't shut their goddamn holes is because they want an issue they can campaign on.
I am also really sick of this "let's have gore run again" shit. Jesus christ, pick a guy who can have facial expressions.

By 'facial expression', I assume you don't mean tongue.

We could all talk about the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the Democratic Party, but that'd just be going over the same old ground again. Of course they're whiners. Which is exactly why I think Lott was so monumentally dumb for what he said. He said, in a defiant, southern drawl, something that could maybe be construed as vaguely racist, at Strom Thurmound's birthday party. Anthony McAuliffe strokes himself to sleep at night with thoughts of a clusterfuck like that. Even if those words shouldn't be considered racist at all, you know the Dems are gonna dive on it, and you know a certain portion of the electorate is gonna go with 'em. Moral of the story, as Nox has often said, engage brain before mouth. Or something along those lines.

Whoops, sorry, meant Terry McAuliffe. Anthony McAuliffe is the "Nuts!" guy from the Battle of the Bulge. My bad.

In essence, Levin was going along with Strom's Dixiecrat candidacy. Not as pointed as Lott, but in the same vein.

Yes, the US press is pro-Democratic Party. The press hounded Bob Packwood because he patted a couple fannies and demanded (and got) his resignation. And Billy Bubba playing huff and puff in the Oval Office is okay. Even Gloria Steinem wrote an article saying that a "feel for free" was alright as long as you didn't do it again if the woman said no.

The US press is biased.

I don't think it has anything to do with being a sore loser. It's just how the game is played. Politics is a lot like tennis, you wait for the other guy to make a mistake and then screw them.

And poor Trent Lott, he can't seem to shut up long enough to put the genie back in the bottle.

Bias in the press? Well, duh. But it goes both ways, just depends on which outlet you want to choose. If you don't like the New York Times, read the Wall Street Journal. If you don't like one TV news channel, pick another one that's biased the way you want.

Your point is made. I would counter with this question: The Wall Street Journal carries editorials by Bill Press and Al Hunt, who are their conservative equivalents on the New York Times staff?

Yes, change channels, however my point is larger than that. Fox News and The Wall Street Journal do try to give both sides while maintaining a conservative leaning. The New York Times et al are liberal period, even to the extent of not allowing the editorial staff to criticize to sports staff. That was my point.

Robert Byrd Made some racist comments a while back. I guess the door only swings one way for the democrats.
