Horrible Misquote of Trent Lott. All he said is that if Strom Thrumound won the presidential race, there would not be a lot of problems that there are today. It made no mention to specific policy or beliefs. While the statement is incredibly stupid, it is wrong to assume that he was lammenting Jim Crow.
