I proscrastinate something wicked, and lost my W-2s or whatever for tax returns. Im under 21 and am a full-time student, so I get all of my money back, but I never filed this year. How would I go about getting my money back? They owe me like a grand.

Do your parents pay for room and board? If you are considered a "dependent" you will get all federal taxes back.

Now, Im talking the one that says Fed, not FICA. FICA is the biggest one. It goes to Social Security, welfare, EBT/food stamps, and other bullshit bums programs. You will never see that tax again for the rest of your life.

If you pay state income tax, then you'll probably get that back too.

Oh yea, ill be minus whatever late fees for not filing.

1. Get replacement copies of the W2's from your former employers (all you need is the numbers here.) In your case, you'll probably have to beat it out of them.

2. Fill out the paperwork, copy it, destroy the originals.

3. Go down to the local IRS office, feign indignation, and ask, "Where the hell's my refund?"

It worked for me once, no shit. No penalty either. Let us know how it works out.

Do like User said and get copies of the W-2. Get a regular 1040/1040EZ and file. Since you are getting a refund...no big deal. Do the same for state.

Well since you won't know the employer's TIN, then the ONLY link to all 8 sets of numbers is your SSN. Still have that? lol.

Your only hope then is some kind of bullshit call to the IRS, enquiring about the amounts. They would have been reported on the employer's 941 returns. But the IRS won't want to give out that info without verifying who you are, so you may have to go down to the office, where the question of, "where's your damn return?" will come up...

You could say that you filed, but then lost your copies. But I think you're just fucked on this one.
