Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default Jimmy Carter and the Nobel Peace Prize

Ahh, Jimmy Carter. The man who never met a dictator he didn't like. He recently received the Nobel Peace Prize. What a great guy, right?.....

No. The Nobel Peace Prize is decided by a bunch of Norweigen elitists. They choose Jimmy Carter to thumb their nose at Bush. You see, Carter never had the balls to tell fascists to fuck off. Carter wanted no contraversy with any leader. He would compliment communists.

Now, the Norweigen elitists are being bitter, little, U.N. loving, nutsuckers. George Bush doesn't take shit from Saddam and that is their problem. The elitists actually made a statement that basically said that it was their way of expressing disapproval for the U.S. And good ole' Jimmy had no problem with that. He took the prize and the $1 million and went to Cuba or some shit. And it's not like he needs the $1 million, people.

Now, right after Sept. 11, the Saudis gave Ruddy Guliani $10 million and attached some crap like they disapproved of US policy or some crap. Guliani declined. Guliani has balls.

The Nobel Peace Prize has officially lost all meaning and value. What a shame.(boo-hoo)

Maybe, it was obvious. But all the media and newspapers just glorified him. It was like: "What a Great GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

None of the mainstream media mentioned the "we hate america" clause.

It is cute and amusing to hear your opinions Butthead. But perhaps Mr. Carter should've told you to fuck off. The distinct fascism displayed in your comment about Norweigan elitists. Just a little point, the Nobel peace prize has to be given to someone peaceful, so thumbing noses or not, Bush baby cold never eeeeeeeeeever get it.

Bush might not take any shit from Saddam, but the same argumen could be applied conversely. This shit to which you refer is the fact Saddam won't roll over for big bad cowboy dumbass Bush like every one else.

It is this "not taking shit" which causes so much resentment. Fidel Castro almost got nuked for "not taking shit" and he also nearly got assassinated. "not taking shit" appears to be a good trait in the president but a bad trait if the president is producing the shit. Neither Saddam or Fidel have ever represented a threat to US, and the only crime they have commited is "not taking shit" from USA.

So if "not taking shit" is a crime, then why do you praise Bush for it?

And if Fascism is so bad why does your people promote it?

I've been thinking about this. Maybe the 'Peace Prize' lost its meaning when Arafat got it.

Arafat shared the prize with Shimon Peres and Yitzak Rabin, for having signed a paper where the three of them declared themselves willing to consider to perhaps start negotiating some time in the future, wich doesnt excactly give more credibility to the Peace Price Committee in Norway.

All the other Nobel Price Committees, in science etc, WAIT until its proven without a doubt that the nominee has accomplished his task. More often than not scientists do things in the middle of their careers and have to wait until retirement before they recieve the Nobel Prize for what they did back then.

The Peace Price Committee tend to try to force the issue, and/or to make political statements of their own. The latter in a way that often seems "designed" for no other purpose than to get positive "reviews" from so called political commentators and intellectuals.

In the case of Jimmy Carter it could perhaps be argued that hes worthy of the Peace Price, but even if he is, the way they gave it to him now, takes away all the "glory" from it, and makes a fool out of him...

All that is, is metaphor!
