| Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought. |

Bush...cocaine?
it doesn't make sense because as sckbch said you're reading more into it than there really is.
you already have a national id card.
it's called your social security card, the only real difference between that and a national id card is that your picture will be on it, and instead of using your social security number to look up information on you, the information will be on the card.
other than that the card will be no different than your social security card.
and you still have to be totally insane and off your rocker to think these people are going to shoot you for not having your nat. id.
i'd still like to see the information that supports that statement.
quit being so fucking paranoid people, the government is not going to watch you unless it feels there's a reason to watch you.
that quarter of weed you buy every week will not warrant the fbi, cia, dea, and every other federal branch of government to sit in your trees with a pair of binoculars.
how about a using a little realism people.

Re: Bush...cocaine?
I'm sure people said the same thing in Germany, cerca 1934, or Soviet Russia in 1922.
Maybe you need to be a bit more paranoid. Even the founding fathers didn't trust the government, and back then they didn't have a fraction of a percent of technology they've got today.

Re: Bush...cocaine?
so what really upsets you is the speed at which they can find things out about you huh?
you know a good private detective can find out as much about you as the government.
the fact is, if you are going to do things that will be kept track of,
people can find them out.
if you want pure privacy, don't do anything, don't leave your house, grow your own food, hunt with a bow and arrow you made yourself, don't go to the doctor, don't get a bank account, etc, etc, etc.

Re: Bush...cocaine?
What pisses me off isn't the speed that they can monitor me, it's that they're allowed to watch me at all. This isn't a some private dick. It's the government. The government has no right to stick its nose into my ass. It goes against what America is supposed to stand for. How can you call yourself patriotic and say that you don't mind your own government going against everything it was founded?
