| Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought. |

Marcus Aurelius was one of the better Roman emperors who actually attempted to establish a Republic after his death before he was murdered by his son Qomodo.

Messer:> >>That's the government we should all avoid.<<
Why, because I secretly run everything or because of the people I employ.
RAOVQ:> >>some of those people are a bit ambitious. they might try to overthrow your happy system. best to use morons.<<
Who said it would be a happy system?
If they all were born under the same nation, at the same period in time and used their ambition in the role that I assigned them, it would be a "glorious" empire.
Though I admit if I dropped them all in out of time and assigned them their roles, I would give it about sixmonths before it toppled in on itself.

Imperator- Me. Commander of Armed Forces and empowered by Enabling Act Chief Centurion (New Senate Leader, Id rename the senate to the Century, same 100 man process, more rhetorical flair)- My brother Justin Chief Advisor- Niccolo Macchievelli Head of new official Church- Pope Alexander VI Chief Economic Officer- Someone not good at economics, I want the state to influence the economy, not vice versa. My army would cripple the potential of other nations to rival my economy, so I could do as I pleased. Chief of Propaganda- Julius Streicher Head of Federal Teachers Guild- Cornelius Codreanu

Alexander didnt kill the people clearly more powerful than he. Streicher was an interesting character. Protempore sounds gay. Century sounds imposing.

Re: If you could pick the Pres...??
there was no one more powerful than he. Centurion is far to low a rank to be associated with such power. at its very best I will say that it is merly to decadently theatrical to be a good name.

Re: If you could pick the Pres...??
Its a stupid comic book like name. I suppose you'de rename the supreme court "the Leauge of justice" and make all the justices wear skin tight lycra products. You are a facist posser, you just like the straight legged walking and the neato helmets. You have such a godawfully tacky sence of theatrics which seems to supercede any sence of decorum you posses.

The Centurion was subordinate to a much younger officer, a Tribune.

Re: If you could pick the Pres...??
Thanks messer. Tribune in America has the emotional charge associated with a newspaper. Centurion is associated with power and authority. Semantics are a frivolous irrelevance. Tell a crowd loyal to the Grand Centurion in jack boots that their leader is subordinate to the Tribune. LoL Youre all being very gay, by the way.

unclnasty, i think you mean V.I. Lenin,"d" wasnt his middle initial. And Alexander the Great?I hate him he only controlled the largest army of the time and made the people call him a god. Genghis Khan took a small nomadic tribe and swept through everyone that dared to stand and fight, he'd be infinitly better than alex.

Ghengis Kahn simply conquered, and it benefitted no one. Alexander the Great enabled trade through out his empire, and founded alexandria.

Re: If you could pick the Pres...??
Alexander was a master of strategy, logistics and tactics. He commonly defeated forces six times his size. If not For his army which wouldn't cross the indus river because they feared the'd never see their homes again it is entirely concievable that the chineese would have been conquered by alexander. The battle of axelarm Is still studied today in military academies.
Ghengis Kahn on the otherhand took a group of nomads more plentiful than Alexanders macedonians, and conquered by the virtue of his tactics; mounted archers with composite bows. These bows are probably the equal of single shot rifles of the civil war; less accurate, slightly shorter range, greater rate of fire. His success relied on the superiority of his weapons. He would have been defeated would he have attacked the brittish in northern france as the long bow was the equivilent of a winchester, Accurate enough to hit a man sized target twenty times in one minute at 300 yards possesing a tip capable of peircing plate armor and wood.
