Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default Anyone interested in anarchism?

Im not talkin about what your basic middle school snot nose calls anarchism(explosives drugs and "fight the man!") real anarchism, the absence of an structured government and the right of the individual to decide what laws shall govern him/her self.

I think Anarchy would be the perfect solution to a perfect world, but untill this is a perfect world, socialism is the ideal solution.

fuck your socialism.

capitalism is the way to go.

people who want other forms of government are lazy and expect all things handed to them.

we would not have the technology we do today if it wasn't for capitalism.

even though monopolies are against the law here.

the goal of capitalism is a monopoly until somebody comes up with something better.

capitalism is the cause of all suffering in this world because it is basically based on greed.

unemployment, homelessness, starvation, health problems are all caused by capitalism and which would not exist under socialism- at least to the appaling current extent.

it is not democratic as the people dont elect the corporations who have more power than government.

socialism is the next step i think we need to take. i think countries will start to collapse in about 20 years time when the worlds population has doubled and we will be trying to salvage what is left of the earth under a more socially and environmentally responsible socialism.

i think anarchy is the best solution around, anarcho-socialism sounds the best option. until the people are in charge of their own lives then freedom cannot be enjoyed

apperently you haven't heard of the cheerful band of communists in seirra leone giving free amputations, involentarily.

About Twenty five million people Died of starvation in Mao's "great leap forward" Stalins reign killed twenty million with purges and starvation. More moderate European socialist countries have unemployment rates in excess of 10%
it is not democratic as the people dont elect the corporations who have more power than government.

One of the major principles of democracy is the right of personal property, ever
heard of Tomas Locke?

By your Criteria Russia and china should be the countries with the best environments in the world, quite the opposite of what has occured in the real world". That which is owned by everyone is cared for by no one"

Socilist states must inherently use force to keep its subjects in line. the control of ones own life along with ones own property is much more synonomous with capitalism

Firstly I thank you for your critisism as I am still quite young and am still learning and adjusting my beliefs through hearing different arguments.

I would still insist that capitalism is the main cause of suffering in the world because it just is, youll see! Evidence of this can be found in the aftermath of the supposedly successful NAFTA agreement and the forthcoming FTAA, please read on.

Since NAFTA 15 US wood product companies have set up business in Mexico, as a result 40% of forests in the Mexican state of Geurrero have been destroyed along with the life in them.
The FTAA is expected to outline plans to privatise education, health care, water and energy. This will affect working class people who cant afford to pay for these vital services. Prices of water was increased 200% after Bolivia privatised its water utility, leading to death and riots.
Working families and the environment have suffered from NAFTA. In the US 400,000 job losses, those that got new jobs earn an average of just 77% of their previous pay. In Mexico 8 million Mexicans have slipped from the middle class into poverty and 1 million more Mexicans earn less than the minimum wage. There have been massive increases in pollution and improper disposal of chemical waste leading to shocking increased rates of birth defects and hepatitis.

I dont for one moment agree with any socialist state, that is why I added the anarcho bit. Socialism as it has been practised in the real world has been flawed and I dont agree with it. Im currently writing a sort of manifesto type thing which I will post within the next month.

Place my vote for anarchy. I don't need big daddy staring down my back, forcing me to comply with his unjust christian based laws of nonesense. Yes some the laws are productive and yes they do tax for good reasons but the majority of all forms of government become greedy fat cat watchtower bastards who will stop at absolutly nothing to distort the truth and put a barcode on the back of your neck.

anarchist, anarcho socialism is not only ridiculous, but impossible, anarchy and socialism are both TYPES OF GOVERNMENT, ou cannot have 2 different types of governments in one society, anarcho capitalism, at least makes sense, becuase capitalism is an economic system, and can be found in conjucntion with numerous types of government, 9excluding ones that prohibit it, 1.e communism, etc.)
one cannot have a state of non-governed individuals(anarchy) cooexisting with a sort of
"proto-communism" or perfect sharing of good (socialism) they just cant!

Hombre, socialism, like communism is an economic system. If you look at the USSR, they had "elections". They were a republican socialist regime. ie: United Soviet Socialist Republic.

If you want to ask "who is truly free anyway?"
Ask, who is most free?

1)The man who can work at McDonalds for 3 years and then get his citizenship and education and get a decent desk-job selling shit he doesn't care about to some guy who would let him quit whenever the fuck he wanted, but he by his own free will has 7 kids so he needs the money
or 2)The poor bastard who lives in an anarchist state but he didn't have a lot of friends or guns. Even though he was a good man, he couldn't stick up for himself, So he was ass-raped and used as a mule for his entire life by a man with a sawn-off shotgun he stole from a Brotherhood of motherfuckers who formed out of the mess. Oh wait: that would be a local government....
