Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default Bush and California

California's economy equals the six largest country. And still no help for us. Here is where I am critical. He wants to give us the tax cut, so we'll have more money in our pockets...TO PAY TO THOSE GREEDY BASTARDS!

Our utility bill was 12% higher than a year ago and we used less wattage. And who knows what they're gonna charge us tomorrow?

Everything is affected. What about gas? The Ralphs truck can't make it to the store, so the products go up...*sigh*

In California, the budget (including our surplus) can't be carried out the way it was supposed to. The surplus has already dropped 3.2 BILLION! If the state shells out more money for electricity we're gonna be in a fucking deficeit of 1.2 billion by 2003. Can you smell fresh state taxes due to this deficeit that is inevitable? Make no mistake about it, this is happening as we speak[/b. Fucking Gray Davis is spending all our surplus!

Amoung the programs that will be cut...transportation projects (pot holes). Insurance for the poor, must I go on?

It's like that new movie...we Californians are gonna be taking it every which way but loose. [b]All because of Electricity and Gas.

Being the boozers that most of you are...Liquor taxes in CA are going up as well. So yer gonna be screwed two ways...Gas shortages will make it harder for the booze to make it on the shelf...and additional taxes from the state!

See how this all works in our wonderful trickle down system we have here in America?

wouldn't you know it;

the state with the most tree huggers now having an energy crisis 40 years later.

and what's funnier tree huggers bitching about it.

(not that you're a tree hugger)

the most ironic statement i've heard in a long time came d.l. hughley on politically incorrect with bill maher.

while complaining about the damage we do the environment with AUTOMOBILES, goes on to complain about the price of gas he has to pay to drive his AUTOMOBILE.

that's like an animal activist complaining about the poaching of elephants while at the same time complaining about the price of his ivory candlestick holders.

its these same double talk people that have to label the light swith on and off in case you have a hard time figuring it out.

What's more ridiculous is that our Governor is asking for price caps. (BTW only the Fedederal Energy Commision can do that aka Pres. Bush) Basic economics teaches that markets cannot be manipulated like that, they only lead to more problems down the road Just look at PG&E's bankruptcy. Besides this isn't George W.'s problem.

But still the Gov. continues to ask for them. BTW what is they are granted? EVERY state is gonna be asking to pay less for their electricity...

Well you know what, I have a fool proof plan to increase California's budget while not cutting any programs: increase taxes.
