| Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought. |

President Bush takes back a handful of national parks, and in some people's eyes (Diluted) he's SATAN (My dad has a friend whose ranch was split in half! beacause of the impromptu-ness of the boundaries) I am not against national parks, but I am against them when they are made with no research whatsoever (a few days?)

Sarcasm is good, but what are the chances we'd be saying the same thing about Gore? Awfully good. I tend to believe both (Bush moreso) are puppets. Like it or not, Reagan, Bush #1, and Clinton could actually think for themselves (I have to take the word of others for it on Reagan, though, since I don't really remember anything he did). Everything those two said and did reeked of it being "suggested" by others.

Yeah, the american elections in 2000 was a choice between a nincompoop and a nerd. But it would have been really cool if McCain had won the republican primaries. Even thought he's a republican, at least he's a good politician and looks like an intelligent man.

Gore I believe would of been the best choice. He is probably getting high as shit right now and laughing at hsi ass off because he probably did win the election. Bush is a puppet that can be used to show all the negative aspects of the presidency, in all honesty I believe that he is a fairly intelligent individual however he just was not ready for what he now has on his shoulders.

a nincompoop? Oh, you mean the Governorship of such an unimpressive state such as TEXAS. Oh, I forgot. *Thinks back to 1992* Clinton, what did he have? The corrupted, zero-results governorship background from the poorest state in the union - ARKANSAS. Making Highway patrol officers, pull women off the roads for no reason whatsoever. Wait, Clinton wanted their number, lol. And we can't forget real estate fraud!! But that made him a better candidate against Bush Sr. (CIA director, vice president, etc...)

Lokil don't fuck with Texas we may suck but thats only because we have to put up with 1/2 of the incoming immigrants to the country. I am a citizen of the state of Texas (not yet but I still live so it sorta counts) he did a fair job with the state and he made no REALLY stupid mistakes with us.

First off, I like Texas. Secondly, California has the most immigrants. The foreign born population here is high enough to consider the whole damn state a fucking embassy. Off the top of my head...We have 1/3 of all latin people in the U.S. *can't wait till they move to Templeton's and Bongman's neighborhood* They're coming America...Muhaha

Re: Three cheers...
California used to be such a BOMB-BAY state. From the fucking white people leaving to the highest gas prices, to the blackouts for the next 20 fucking years, we ruined ourselves.
Only twenty years, only 20 fucking years, and look how we changed? You see? The state is under Latino control, and look at the larger picture, America. Look at the larger picture. See how a state can change for the worse? Many ppl are biased against what I say, but in general I am right. I am fucking right.
*whines and pouts*
This ain't the California my dad grew up in. Drive in movie theatres, surfer/valley girls, good times, and a surburbian paradise. California used to be special, thank you civil rights, thank you new immigration policies, thank you Congress, thank you earl warren, thank you all you fuckers that couldn't be content and always have to fucking change things. Fucking thank you.

To reply to Lokil's only valid point-
Yes, Texas. Your point? If one believes that certain members of the Republican party are pulling Dubya's strings now, as I do, then one would believe that those same people put him in power in a big state like Texas because that's the only way he would build the necessary reputation to be able to become President.

Now Lokil, your acutually telling me that George W. Bush is more intelligent than a person who, even thought, according to you, was the govornor of a backwater state, who was corrupted and was implicated in fraud, was smart enought to be elected by a majority as the president of the United States of America not only once but actually twice?

No, I'm saying that the office of the President is a position that one becomes more comfortable in as time goes on. Clinton showed us that. W. got elected cause he is comfortable in his own skin. I would be more relived to have a man like that in office than Al Gore, who showed us a new personality during wach of the debates...

Re: Three cheers...
Spiffy, nm. Liberal Politics don't work. They are fine ideas, but they don't work. When Antonio Villaragosa gets elected as mayor of Los Angeles, you will see what liberal politics do to the government, local or otherwise. His is imcompetent. He lengthened his name from "Villa" to milk the latin vote. He is fake. He has two kids outside of marriage.
All the white people are leaving L.A. It is significant America, why don't you care? They're passing up the controlling rights to it. Spiffy, take a step from outside of yourself. Look down of L.A., not as bad as New York, a majority of people from Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala waves of foreign born peoples...Does that not concern you? We're importing poverty!? These peoples are gangs, etc. Into once beautiful California? Los Angeles Unified School District 90% Latino? How can that be?! Six to eight kids are not unusual in fact here are some info on Guatemala and Nicaragua...
1 country Central America S of Mexico bordering on the Pacific & the Caribbean; a republic area 42,042 square miles (109,309 square kilometers), population 9,713,000 2 or Guatemala City city, its capital population 1,132,730
2 country Central America bordering on the Pacific & the Caribbean; a republic capital Managua area 49,579 square miles (128,410 square kilometers), population 4,265,000
ALL THESE PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO DO IS BREED!!
COME ON FOLKS!!! MOVE OVER TO ANAHEIM!! OH, I HEAR GARDEN GROVE HAS NO MONEY DOWN AVAILABLE!!! VIETNAMESE? OoOoOo COME OVER TO WESTMINISTER!! WE"RE DEVELOPING ALL OF ORANGE COUNTIES OPEN SPACE THAT WE USED TO HAVE INTO HOMES!! NOT FOR IMMIGRANTS, THO FOR THEIR FUCKING KIDS!!!! AND THEY SPEAK A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TOO!! AND THEY"RE TEACHING IT TO THIER KIDS AS WELL!!!

And why should California be for white people. If latin-american people are taking over Los Angeles, why shouln't they? What illegal act are they commiting. How are they infringing on your rights Lokil? Hell, maybe if the latinos take over, we'll see less of those flaky californians who whine over everyting.

Re: Three cheers...
I don't even want to get into what politics work- any kind are capable of working if you get the right people putting them in place, but those smart enough to do it right are almost all smart enough to not become politicians.
Let's get on the same page on one thing- I'm far from being all for swinging the doors open wide to the world's masses. Limit immigration, from everywhere, every country, every corner of the world. We don't need more people, period.
There's a lot of people already here, though. Once the floodgates are closed, what do you do then? Yes, laws designed to help even the playing field (such as affirmative action) have that nasty little side-effect of drawing lines based on race.. but when it comes down to it, the attitudes of communities are based on the attitudes of the people. If everyone thought like you, we'd never get anywhere- everything you say screams of deep-seated belief in differences between races.
You can talk about wanting to make America a unicultural, melting-pot society again all you want, but the simple fact is that the only way America could have been considered to be that way in the past is because those who didn't fit the idea of what the majority thought the "melting pot" should contain were segregated, pushed down, and made second-class citizens based solely on their ethnicity.
There's a lot of different cultures around now. You want it to be one big mishmash of everything again? Doubtful. The best we can realistically hope for, I think, is to acknowledge the fact some people live differently, and just respect that.
I'm sure you're not going to make too many Latino friends with the attitude of, "All they can do is breed!" Regardless, that IS all some of them can do, just like trailer trash of all creeds and colors everywhere. It sucks. Deal with it and focus your energy elsewhere, or waste it complaining.. they're not going to live any differently.

do you think that becasue your skin is white or a lighter shade what ever, that lattino's are less than you.... or are they more successful than you, or what is it you hate, their mind, or any thing that can distingish them as not inferior to you.
you see if a bunch of white people took over a section or what ever, then no one would pay any attension,
but if asians etc took over a section, they would pay attension to their race,
all i want to know is why is that,
why does your attension go to the lattin cunts, when if they were white, you wouldent give a toss,
just a question, adolf. i mean lokil.

Re: Three cheers...
Nihil, you fool. Before the Immigration act of 1975 there were no such group called "hispanics" or "Latinos" California always had them but they we still considered a part of the caucasian race. Bereaucrats made up those terms. I am taking about "third wolders" being the majorities in the cities man, the cities. Like Guatemalans, El Salvadorians, Costa Ricans, and even a alrge population of Haitains, etc. I am a minority in my own state. And eventually our country. I believe that will be the next greatest revolution in America. To see if we can survive without a dominant European culture. Guess Whites will be the slaves now, how ironic.

Re: Three cheers...
Funny you ask, I went to ellisislandrecords.org, and I found out that my grandfather came to America through Ellis Island on August 22, 1922 on the ship Oropesa. His name was Johann ****. Ethnicity: German, Austrian. He was 15 years old, and the port of Departure was Hamburg, Austria. He came from the first world, not from the lazy sunshine of Mexico. NEver spoke his native language in America, EVER. And never had any government programs to help him out.

Re: Three cheers...
I hate Texas. I've never been to Texas, but it still corrupts the whole country. See, Texas is the nation's most valuable consumer of school textbooks. Therefore the state censorship board gets to decide what does and does not go into the textbooks for the rest of the states since most companies are unwilling to lose Texas' business. That is why we are taught George Washington never told a lie, when he was actually an accomplished politican (liar) and soldier (killer) as well as a womanizer (he died with syphillis). Its all people afraid that maybe our nation's history isn't as clean as some would like.
Bush.. is an idiot. A truly stupid man. He cannot say a full sentence without making up a new verb. He is a terrible burden on our country. The idea that congress blames their shitty legislation on him is only true in the smallest margin. The problem is that the majority of Congress is conservative republican, the president is stupid, not to mention a conservative republican who feels he must totally destroy our natural resources, and the courts are packed with conservative judges so everything is consitiutional. Bush doesn't have to sign all the shit he does, but he's a big-business man. His tax cuts only aid the big-business in the long run and... here is a perfect example: The arsenic thing; no longer do water processing plants have to check for arsenic. That was Bush.
This is your president.
Even his cousin, HIS COUSIN, has begged him to keep drilling out of the Gulf of Mexico, to no avail. Ruin the environment - and get paid.

Mexican growth in state spurs overall Hispanic increase By MIKE JOHNSON of the Journal Sentinel staff Last Updated: May 10, 2001 A surge in Wisconsin's Mexican population fueled the whopping 107% increase in the number of Hispanics in the state over the last decade, new Census 2000 figures show. The Mexican population in Wisconsin more than doubled, to 126,719 from 57,615 - up 120% between 1990 and 2000 - and accounted for more than two-thirds of the increase in the state's Hispanic population, according to census figures. "The growth is a combination of immigration and the fact that the birth rate for Latinos is higher than that of the rest of the population," said William Velez, a sociology professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. There are now 192,921 Hispanics in Wisconsin, up 99,727 from 93,194 in 1990. The Census Bureau in March released total population figures for the state, including race and Hispanic origin. But it did not release until today data on the population of specific Hispanic groups for each state. The new data, however, did not include figures for cities and counties. Those figures are expected to be released in the coming weeks. The earlier release put Milwaukee's total Latino population at 71,646. The numbers, however, did provide a snapshot of Hispanic groups for both Wisconsin and the nation. In the United States, the Mexican-American population increased 53% to 20.6 million. The 7.1 million increase in Mexicans during the last decade accounted for the majority of the 12.9 million increase in the total Hispanic population, the Census Bureau said. The Hispanic population in the U.S. rose to 35.3 million from 22.4 million, a 57.6% increase. Hispanics make up 12.5% of America's 281.4 million people. In addition to Mexicans, there are 3.4 million Puerto Ricans, 1.2 million Cubans and an additional 10 million people of other Hispanic origin from Spain, Central and South America and the Dominican Republic. For Wisconsin, the figures showed: The Puerto Rican population grew 58%, to 30,267 from 19,116. The Cuban population grew 48%, to 2,491 from 1,679. Other Hispanic groups grew 126%, to 33,444 from 14,784. The influx of Mexicans and other Hispanics is being driven by the need for workers in the manufacturing and services industries, Velez said. "We basically have a very good economy," Velez said. Maria Monreal-Cameron, president and CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin, said employers in the area have been recruiting Mexican workers. "They find Mexicans to be dependable, loyal and responsible. Wisconsin certainly has a large variety of blue-collar posts. The hard work ethic of Mexicans precedes them," she said. And Mexicans and other Hispanics are drawn to the state by family members who have located here. "There's an established network of friends and relatives who facilitate the migration here," Velez said. The Census Bureau said more than three-fourths of the nation's Hispanics lived in the South and West, with half of the Hispanic population living in California or Texas. In New Mexico, 42% of the population is Hispanic, the highest proportion of any state. In Wisconsin, Hispanics make up 3.6% of the state's 5.36 million people. Appeared in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on May 10, 2001. I don't mind one bit.
