| Network (in)Security Interesting hacks and cracks. Info on firewalls, TCP/IP, encryption, networks, and security. The ins and outs of the phone system, caller services, how things work, what's illegal and what's not, cellular phones, beepers, telephony legislation, the PUC, ISDN, taps, who's listening, and switches. Talking about phones, hacking systems, technical advice, and such is completely LEGAL in the United States -- it's covered by the First Amendment. What's illegal is conspiracy to commit a crime. So if you say something like "Meet me at 2am so we can crack a can" or "I changed my cell phone's number myself" you are criminally liable. Stating "You can crack a can by doing thus-and-so" or "If you wanted to change a cell phone's number, you could do it like so" is perfectly OK. Posting passwords, calling card numbers, or credit card numbers is forbidden on this network. Posting such info will get you booted off the net. |

Re: Ip Adresses
Um... their computer will explode, create a portal in space/time and open up an exciting portal to the mythical land of Narnia. Seriously, nothing. The IP addy may be [used] to achieve something. It is a means to an end. On its own it is just a string of numbers.

Re: Ip Adresses
Are there any programs you can use to screw a persons computer if you get the ip number?

Re: Ip Adresses
An IP address is the basis of most attacks. You have to learn something first, nobody is going to help you if you're stuck-up enough to believe that being a black-hat is going to get you anywhere. Don't spit on a person unless they spit on you first.

Re: Ip Adresses
Your IP address is analogous to your Mailing Address. You can send a mailbomb to someones mailbox, you can find and break into their home when you have the address.
An IP address is just that, an address. It is simply information that states where you can find something, in this case a TCP/IP enabled device (However, the real technology is a bit more complicated than this).
If all you want to do is run a fucking program and crash someone's computer then, be my guest, do so, but without my help.
