i read once that windows was a bad choice phor OS's if your looking to get into the nastier of things within your scope. my question now is "what is the choice ISP phor those who wanna expand their box?" i wanna know which one is most used bah people who think they know what their doing.(no offence to anyone) its phor mah own learning of course...

If you want to sound 31137 you don't have to replace every f with a ph, you just come across as stupid.

though the concept of me ever becoming 31337 is amusing, mah typing habits are mah habits "phor" mah own reasons. My point is, if you speak/type properly you will get a much better response, people might actualy take you seriously.

If you want to use an ISP for whatever, i sugest you use a small one from a foriegn country as it will be harder for them to trace it to you using thier records. but IMHO you shouldnt let anyone your get your IP in the first place.

If you are looking for a good ISP to mess around with Linux or UNIX then you are probably best to go looking for an unknown local ISP. Without your location I cant tell you much.

All the main "well-known" ISPs (AOL, @home, etc) are probably not what you are looking for. Stay away from DSL as its all leased out to resellers from the telephone company and they _could_ easily notice your activities.

This is one of those questions that I have to say, go search yourself. Check your local LUG (Linux Users Group) and see what ISP they use.

I cant really give you a concrete answer because I dont believe there is one.

The only reason I can think of for typing "phor" or "mah" or "bah" is if you're missing an f key or a y key, which you probably aren't seeing as you used them.

Windows is a bad OS for things in general except maybe games, go download BSD. And in terms of your ISP, the smart people just use the fastest and cheapest ISP they can get access too, or maybe with the most features, basically the best value. Theres no such thing as an elite hacker ISP but some are better protected than others. A lot of New York and New Jersey people like GTI because its a pretty good deal, decent uptime, and secure for an ISP. I like Earthlink alot cuz it has really cheap good service, its national, and Apple owns part of it. Right now, though, I use DNAI which is owned by some other company. ISPs really are best dealt with on a regional basis, go to the 2600 website for your state or area and ask around...

if your serious about hacking dont do it from home ever!!!! its too easy to get caught. like everyone else said go with the cheapest thing you can find if you just want to practice using nix. just dont do anything dumb.

i appreciate the input and i suppose i should start lookin phor a new isp. ive grown quite tired of AOHell but i use it because its on a phriends comp.(hence free)im lookin to get a new comp soon but i want to use a unix or linux type shell. i recently phound an OS called AtheOS and im curious if anyone knows anything about it. furthermore, does anyone know if i would need a special isp to get all that i can outta it?
