ive noticed since i came to totse first about a year ago,and when i first started hacking about a year ago,the habbits that all fake hackers have. first if some newb post a question then on of them does this "you need to gain access vai,root dir.but its differnt all the time,it depends" or some shit.then the newb comes back and says,well how the hell do i do that! then the "fake" hacker says "i told you its different all the time! you dont listen you idiot! im not going to teach you!" then the rest of the thread is evryone saying how stupid the newb is. until someone that knows what he is doing like jadedfool,comes along and tells them to wrap their motherboard in tinfoil and they blow their computer up! haha,remember hat jaded! that one guy was trying o break into msn and you told him to put a peice of tinfiol on the board because "microsoft has but a block in the chip,and you need to bypass this".lol

Ok then J Davis you are right man, everybody has to start somewhere whether into hacking, cracking or whatever but do you know how to hack or can you define what a hacker is or what a cracker is. Now if you are a "Hacker" then how would you start to for example deface a web site which by most "Serious" hackers is considered lame. Where do you start and how do you find out what OS the server is running on and how do you exploit it etc etc etc ..........

first of all i didnt say i was a hacker,im to young to be a hacker. the difference between hacking and cracking? well first thing most hackers hate crackers,hackers are like veterans,theyve done all the research they are experienced and they have been doing it since most of the crackers where born.they use more raw methods,they usually dont use scripts. a cracker will do anything to get where he is going,he/she willtake shortcuts use scripts made by other ppl,do stupid hotmail tricks,basicly they are the punks of hacking.defacing a site? well it depends on what kind of site it is. example: if its on angelfire you all you have to do is find the password for that site and you can do whatevr you want to it. to find the password you basicly need a program that can brute force it. most of what i know comes from experamenting. first thing you need to find out who is hosting the site,you can usually do this by running a program like netscan on that site,it will give you a treceroute. from my experience the site just b4 the last one on the list ussually takes you to a site that relates to the host. i did this on one site and it took me to a site called verio. what the hell was verio? well i did a whois and i found out where the main operation building is,and the site administrators name and address. well it turns out that verio was a webhost company,so i went to their main website and in the directory i found the website i was trying to hack.the firts page i went to had a log in,obviosly the administrator had admin had access to this area but his password was probably impossibe since evrything is case sensitive. then i learned how to use telnet,so i use it on the log in page and i gave me a print out of employees when i sent the command "request". i searched these names and i got some emai adressess. i was lucky enough that out of the ten or so names i was able to crack a password and i was in,this page i was trying to get into was for my school website,which contained answers to all my tests,because it had a CGI bin for testing online. this was a correspondence school,so once i finished all my tests i would graduate. so anyways i found the answers to all the test within the test area dir. there was a "If" "then" script for the program and it pertained to the CGi bin, i just wrote down the if thens for each test then went back and took my tests acording to the script,and voila! im outta school at 15.
