| Network (in)Security Interesting hacks and cracks. Info on firewalls, TCP/IP, encryption, networks, and security. The ins and outs of the phone system, caller services, how things work, what's illegal and what's not, cellular phones, beepers, telephony legislation, the PUC, ISDN, taps, who's listening, and switches. Talking about phones, hacking systems, technical advice, and such is completely LEGAL in the United States -- it's covered by the First Amendment. What's illegal is conspiracy to commit a crime. So if you say something like "Meet me at 2am so we can crack a can" or "I changed my cell phone's number myself" you are criminally liable. Stating "You can crack a can by doing thus-and-so" or "If you wanted to change a cell phone's number, you could do it like so" is perfectly OK. Posting passwords, calling card numbers, or credit card numbers is forbidden on this network. Posting such info will get you booted off the net. |

i know, but hey...
ok, I know you guys hate helping people who don't know jack, but just thought I would check. I am not looking at doing anything crazy to get caught, so its not a big deal really. I just want to be able to read someones Hotmail account. I know its probably not possible without having their computer on a local network so I could fetch the password, but is there any other way remotly? Just checking. Would really appreciate any help you guys could give. Thanks

Re: i know, but hey...
get the guy and tie him to a chair, then inject him with the truth syrum. proceed with a merciless interrogation involving red hot pokers, ocular syringes, and heavily weighted penis rings until you elicit the password. oh shit, you said remotely. I guess torture and violence are my answer for everything.

Re: i know, but hey...
As far as getting into a particular hotmail account, the only prog that I know of that works 4 that is bungamunga. WWWhack won't, neither will webcracker, brute forcer, etc.
For anyone that uses VP (virtual places) chat, which is the d/led version of excite/webcrawler, there's a cool trick to getting into someone's hotmail account. All you have to do is go to www.hotmail.com while in the vp browser and make urself an observer. Then when someone comes to hotmail type in their vp handle into the locator function and wait till u they log into their account. Once they're in, click "follow" and you'll b in their inbox or hotmail home. Once your in u can spend as much time as u want doing whatever (other than changing their password b/c u need to know the original to change it). To my knowledge, Excite has never sent any emails warning users about this problem and ppl (mainly newbies) continue to check their email from vp.
