What do you guys think is the best way to obtain someone's IP?

Hit them over the head until they give it to you?

do you have any clue what you would do with an IP address once you got it???

Create a Perl script that captures all of the person's CGI info. Put it on the web somewhere. Test it. Send them the link and hope they click through.

If you want to be really slick have it redirect them to an actually useful site, so they won't get suspicious.

Beseen chat rooms have peoples IP addresses next to their names. But then again I dont know what the fuck im talking about. look for yourself

Yeah, I know what to do with it...I am just stupid when it comes to getting it. I will try creating a Perl script...I thought about beating them over the head but they are a few thousand miles away and my arms aren't that long....

try this... when you send a file in cheetachat to another user it displays your ip.. most people dunno wha tha is so they send anyway.. jus ask sumone for smuthin like macros or avatars.. most likely they'll send if you kew...

That would be tough though because I have no communication with the target....I do have a way of knowing when they are online, but that is about it....The Perl script is worth a shot but I am a retard so I will have to read up on the shit before I try it...I found a Java that supposedly does it but can't ssem to get anywhere with it...someone told me to try AIM IP....anyone familiar with anything like that?

jeez, if the person is the average computer user, just tell them that you have a pic and that the format that it is in requires an ip address. if they are the averge computer user, you can conn them into thinking that IP stands for "internet picture." God, people are dumb.

The Perl Script is good and you can use a Perl script to write a web page that uses java script and perl to actually grab all CGI enviroment stats then have them sent to some thing like hotbot and have thelink say hot bot or some shit like that when they click boom you have their ip and all you want to kno wabout them hehe. or have them down load a file you send them zipped exe of course a binary form of perl perl2exe i think and have it create the web page with the java auto link and have it change their boot up page to yours and boom you have their ip every time they logon cause ip are fidderent some times because of ip masks and shit but i wont go into that now. also it is harder to do it with IE that netscape because of the dam coding envolved i did have a script written for ie4 but when ie5 came out i did not feel like changing it but it still works for those of you who are on netscape or anyhting lower than ie5

Send them a file. While their recieving it, go into DOS and netstat -a the fucker!

If you want to screw with random people try icq. Under user details it shows the ip if the person wasnt smart enough to disable it.

Most people have dynamic IPs anywho.

You can easily get their IP from ICQ even if they do disable it. It's a simple hack.
