UBB CODE question again
Tell me, could you write an entire homepage in UBB Code? If so, where could I get a compiler for it?

Re: UBB CODE question again
is there an UBB browser? Is your browser able to read pure UBB?

Re: UBB CODE question again
compiler? UBB code is a *simple* markup language. A CGI script (Ultimate.cgi here at totse) interprets the UBB code and converts it appropriately into HTML so your browser can render it.
Are you asking for a script that does this so that you can write HTML but using UBB structure?

Re: UBB CODE question again
Why would you want to? It's almost identicle to HTML aside from the fact that UBB only works through a UBB-CGI bin and HTML works through a web browser. Plus there are not enough UBB codes to support anything more than a few text changes and links.

Re: UBB CODE question again
hmmm A UBB browser? NETSCAPE: UBB edition. Interesting... maybe be able to write in UBB and have it convert to HTML when you post it, or have the browser itself convert it. quote: Originally posted by cense: compiler? UBB code is a *simple* markup language.
yes compiler, like Dreamweaver MX(which I use) is a compiler for HTML. also so far I havent had anyone say if enough UBB exists to make a web site, or if it just has enough to make some simple text altercations

Re: UBB CODE question again
Dreamweaver is not a compiler for HTML. HTML is an interpreted "language". It's not compiled. Dreamweaver is simply a WYSIWYG type editor.
A compiler turns a higher human readable code into low-level machine code. HTML is simply interpreted and then displayed to the user.

Re: UBB CODE question again
not nessicarily, it compiles HTML into what you see, therefore a compiler.

Re: UBB CODE question again
no it doesnt. your browser does that, and it does so by INTERPRETING the HTML "code".

Re: UBB CODE question again
Look up the definition of compile before you argue with cense. In fact, just don't argue with cense, he rocks.

To make making webpages simpler of course. and new UBB codes would have to be created if not enough type lines exist. such as: [button 1 url=www.page.com/home/ex.html] something like that. SIMPLIFY MAN!
