Re: scramblers, white noise, etc
This really does belong in "Radio Free Amerika", they would be able to help you more than the people down here. Anyway- as far as i know white noise is in fact a certain frequency, so if you tryed to broadcast it at a different frequency you would end up with silence.

Re: scramblers, white noise, etc
'White noise' basically occurs when a device broadcasts random waves on all or a specfic frequency. This random 'noise' creates interferece for any other equiptment using that frequency. Most white noise generators broadcast on all frequencies, in order to block all wave signals.
The ease of build depends exactly what you want to use it for. Basicaly, the white noise signal must be stronger at the point of receval that the signal you intend to block. For example, it is easy to build a device to block a remote control signal, because the signal from the remote is reletivly weak. However, it would be very hard to block a more important service, radio stations, police radios, because the signal is much stronger.
To cut it short, what is it going to be used for?

Block satellite TV? Hell, a piece of duct tape on the dish's collector will kill TV...
