Downloading streaming audio
Are there any programs that let you download streaming audio? I need one that doesn't use a mic. I need a program that records only what's coming out of the speakers.

Re: Downloading streaming audio
You can use the old split and wave in trick. But you must have a wave in socket and a wave out socket. Buy a cheap 3.5cm headphone jack spliter and a double male ended head phone wire (one 3.5 cm head phone jack on each end). Now plug the spliter into the wave out and connect your speaker wire to it and connect the wire to it. The other end of the wire goes into your wave in. If you use windows just use a sound recorder (plenty out there on the net), i think that the built in windows sound recorder only records 1 minute of audio. Anyway hit record in the recorder program and start up the streaming audio. You get to hear whatevers playing AND you get near perfect sound recording of exactly what you hear with no muffled sounding crap. I used to do it alot when the old techno station "14 Inchs Of Chrome" was up, they ran out of money and had to close down though Chunkmiester

Re: Downloading streaming audio
Edit: I answered my own question.
Some software options are available as well. Total Recorder is one that I've read is good. I'm about to test it. A quick search on Google for "record streaming audio" helped.

Re: Downloading streaming audio
You could just find the link to the music and click "save target as"... That's what I've done in the past.

Re: Downloading streaming audio
"Save target as" just saves the stream as a .pls (or whatever) file. Trey was talking about saving the actual stream as an mp3 or wav, etc. so you can listen to parts of it at later times.
