mellenium hard drive clearance
ok, i had mellenium edition running, but my little brother decided to fuck up my computer. after a long time trying i realised that you cant get to command prompt with ME installed. so i made a boot disk in on a different PC with 98, then pressed F8 and got to command prompt that way. however, when i typed the commad FORMAT C:, it said bad command or file name.

Re: mellenium hard drive clearance
First of all I'm going to tell you that Millennium Edition [ME] is the most horrid of all od windows os. And second of all, yes, you can get into Command Prompt on Me. Hint-Hint: Check the start menu. If you still can't find it use the search button.
Note:This isn't a flame. Just rekindled some bad experiences with that pos os called me.

Re: mellenium hard drive clearance
Well, you don't press f8 at all, if its a boot disk your computer should detect it automaticly on boot and bring you to the command. And if the boot disk was made correctly it should bring you to an A: instead of C:, which is probably where you screwed up. You see, format is a function that is on the bootdisk, not the computer, so if your computer does not know about the disk, it can't run that command, thus A bad command or a bad filename. Note: it is not necessary to have floppy set to primary boot device in the bios, but make sure floppy seek is on.
