Graphics Cards and SVCD software
I'm looking for recommendations for 2 graphics cards: A very good game orientainted graphics card plus a reasonable one that is super compatible and bug free. Has anyone got any ideas? Would prefer personal exp. with the card.
AND... a link to a good svcd player... already tried PowerDVD and it fucks with my comp on SVCD's but plays everything else fine.

Re: Graphics Cards and SVCD software
ATI came out with some great new drivers and new cards which totaly blow nvidia out of the water. nVidia is much better for gaming, but ATI takes the cake for graphics editing and utilities. www.ati.com www.nvidia.com

Re: Graphics Cards and SVCD software
You can get a good ATI card (128mb) for around $150. Nvidia is a little more expensive but the prices are normally the same. If money is no object, get the Geforce 4 Ti4600.

Re: Graphics Cards and SVCD software
If money is no issue, get a Radeon 9700 All-In-Wonder. Ultimate gaming, ultimate editing.

Re: Graphics Cards and SVCD software
wouldnt recommend the 9700 all in wonder, much problems and compatibilitie issues. If you want solid gaming, go with ti4600, pure power go with ati's 9700 pro(wait a bit for this one, lots of issues as i said earlier), compatibility and editing features get an older all in wonder.

Re: Graphics Cards and SVCD software
cool thanks for the input.
ended up getting two G-force 4's (4200) I wanted to stay away from ATI 'cause I've had a lot of problems with it like CDG. Only mine was an All-in-Wonder 128 and I still had plenty of compatibility issues. Anyways haven't installed it yet...

Re: Graphics Cards and SVCD software
I'm surprised I didn't see the word Voodoo in there. Nvidia, and 3dfx are the two best companys for graphics cards. Pricey, but the creme de la creme. You already bought it so I guess these are wasted words.. oh well

3dfx sucks balls. If it didn't have video capture, my Voodoo 3 would be in many many pieces right now.
