TROJANS!
well, ive been a wannabe hacker for a while now, i know web programming, very little ACTUAL programming, i know a few simple windows tricks for crashing netbios clients and so on.... but those god damn trojans wont work on my comp, ive tried sub7 and netbus and they never connect to the target. im running dsl through lan and a gateway. im wondering why these god damn trojans wont work.... is because of my connection or what?

Well, so far, everyones been mature. But damn, who lieks plain marshmellows! Lemme help you roast the fuckers... First off, I dont know what kind of moron you have to be to even download one of those. To begin with the most BASIC of anti-virus programs wont even allow them to run. And if you are disabling your anti-virus to run a virus, you're a moron! And if you dont have an anti-virus, youre a moron! Secondly, a complete fucking retard can use a trojan. If you can't figure it out, youre thicker than a block of fucking led! All it intails is sending them a server then connecting to it. And finally, you said youve been a wannabe hacker for a while. So I suppose by using a trojan you hope to move up from a wannabe to an 1337 h4x0r? Well shit, Im sorry but trojans are worse then stupid little netbios tricks. Any idioit can take soemthing soemone else designed and use it, but it takes a special kind of idiot to read for 20 minutes and memorize the steps! And just so you know, I believe the first trojan [back orafice or whatever] was designed to show that the security holes in M$ Windows could be exploited by virtually anyone. It wasnt designed so you could delete your friends home work then laugh at him the next day! Phewf... So, those marshmellows crispy enough for ya?

Re: TROJANS!
Damn, I forgot the graham crackers...
[edit]
Alright. Listen up. Sub7/Netbus/Back Orifice is not, never was, and never will be hacking. If you come asking about them, you will never have the respect of the members of this forum. Learn a programming language. Poke around a LAN and figure out how it works. Do anything that teaches you something.
Starting a program and click a button is not hacking. It's not really even cracking. It's just plain fucking lame.
If you ask a real question, I'll try my best to help you in any way. Until then, please grow up a bit.

Re: TROJANS!
well, honestly i apreciat those who took the time to even read this post. i tried to be humble in asking my question, and still i was treated like i was being a foolish child asking a foolish question. i understand what trojans are, what they are for. i AM learning programming languages, i do try to put logic behind my quest for knowledge. my origanal post was intended to find out the reason why the trojans werent working, not because im trying desperately to "accomplish" somthing with them, or trying to prove myself as a "hacker". im simply trying to learn alittle bit more about my hobby. im sorry if im being an annoyance to you guys, im just trying to learn.... i know this makes me look even worse, i know i should stop while im ahead, but i... i dunno... ive said my peice i suppose... say what you will

Re: TROJANS!
Ok well if you're serious, we will give you some better learning oportunities than figuring out how to get sub7 to erase your hard disk.
You say you are running on a gateway, what kind of gateway? Does it have a firewall? What kind? If you have access to the gateway, try putting some really bizarre OS on it and trying to make it run. Write yourself a unix firewall. Write a program that simulates a linux or DOS command prompt as closely as possible. Start a smal web server with something like IIS and try to access directories without the pass. There are a million things to do which will teach you a lot more than troubleshooting sub7.
oh, and read the Jargon files (search google for jargon) and make sure you are using a correct interpretation of hacker/cracker.
There....damn....the fire went out...
/me eats marshmellows raw.

mmmmmmmmmmm......... marshmellows...... *drools* *sticks one in his hot chocolate*
[edit]mmmmm.... edit in thingies....
You'd better be careful with trojans. A lot of them have backdoors/viruses bound not only to the server but also the client, so by simply trying to access someone else's comp, you're compromising yours. Not a wise choice.

Re: TROJANS!
One of the most likley causes for the trojan not working is that the virus scanner on the target has stopped it. The second most likley would be a firewall on the target computer.
