telnet on root on netbsd
i recently aquired a box with gnool and we have stuck netbsd on it to haev a poo around with guff and use it as a server. i want to make it so i don't have to keep switching my guff (monitor, keyboard) to the box, so i set up telnet on the box. (took me a while to figure that one out ) but the stinky phish won't let me login as root. what to do i do? change a permission? if so, where the flop is it? or should i jsut create another superuser?(god forbid) i'm intending on fixing it up with tcpserver (see hack->lans/outdials->amatuer(sp) fortress building on linux) when i'm done, and i'll fix up the security guff then, but atm it has no connection to the outside world, so i can make it as unsecure as i want.

Re: telnet on root on netbsd
Login over telnet as root is a major security flaw. (edit: which is why it is disallowed) You don't want to do that. Just setup a regular user and "su" to root when you need to do configuration. It is not recommended that you create more super users. There is NO situation in which a second super user account is *required*.
ATM? are you saying you have an ATM connection? To where, if not the outside world?
