deskguide_apple
what is the function of this app in gnome. i cant understnad why its eating 13 percent of my cpu when my box is doing absolutly nothing. does anyone have any idea what it could be or why its doing this. i did some searching and all i can say is that its part of gnome and its has some role in desktop managment. no man or whatis entries on my distro either. any help or links would be appreciated.

Its the deskguide applet.
In the lower right hand corner of your desktop toolbar, there is an applet with four windows on it. When you click on it, it takes you to that logical screen. If its bugging you that must just kill it. You can always re-add it later if you want to.

thanks. i dont use multiple desktops anyway. i just wanted to make sure it wasnt crucial before i killed it.
