Default star wars ep II divx and mp43 decompressor

i recently downloaded the movie off morpheus and i can't play it back. the file format is .avi and i believe you need a mp43 decompressor(which i also dl'd). i've tried multiple players and decoders: windows media player 8 and 6.4, divx player alpha and a few others. has anyone been able to play it back and if so how?

thanks,

does it play just black? do u get an error message?

it might be encoded with divx 5(comercial), also available off kazaa/morpheus.

if it just plays black you've d/led a duffer, i got one too. if u get an error message that has something about "unable to find a suitable decompressor" or something similar its a codec problem, u could try [url=http://www.divx-digest.com/software/apcodec.html]angelpotion[url]

if its .avi and u get an error message "unable to play this format" or something similar then the file is corrupt and your fucked .

i think the file is corrupt. i've tried different codecs, players and even renamed the files with different extensions.

thanks,
