new motherboard and cpu question
i just got a new system that i've been trying to build myself and i'm haveing some trouble getting the cpu to work to its full patentual. at the moment its running at 1.1ghz when its a 1.4 ghz athlon this is my motherboard. i.ve been playing about with the jumper settings and can only get the cpu up to 1.1ghz the only thing i can think of that might be causeing this is the fact that i'm useing pc100 512mb sd ram which i origionally thought and the sticker on the front said was pc133. i discovered this through more jumper messing about with. if any1 could point me in the right direction or otherwise shed some light on this it would be appreciated. cheers

Re: new motherboard and cpu question
where did you buy the cpu? it may be a 1.1ghz cpu with a 1.4 tag on it. contact amd they have a list of what the cpu's specs are by serial number. make sure you didnt get ripped off. and if your using pc100 that blows at least get 133. its incredibly cheap right now.

Re: new motherboard and cpu question
dub,
It says on that link you gave that you can adjust the frequency in the BIOS. Try looking there.

Re: new motherboard and cpu question
the cpu couldent run at full potential unless it had ddr ram becasue of the 266 mhz fsb(front side bus). thats odd but possible.....i guese. well anyway how is it? fairly fast?
