i have a simple reader it can read CC ATM cards and ID cards if your state have the magstrip on the back. if you come up with anything cool to due with this let me know. I would really like a writer but they're expensive and im not sure it's worth it. I did see a 20/20 that had an ATM fraud ring that copied the data from Peoples cards when they paid for gas and then wrote the data to blank cards. They used a closed circuit camera to catch the pins. From the information I've read there is no way to get the PIN (because it's not there not even encrypted on the card) I wanted to copy/modify student debit cards at my college.

the people that ran the gas station were running it. a computer was linked between the card swiper and the atm-modem. yeah they got caught, that's why they were on 20/20.

All Electronics carries used card readers for $3 a pop:

They used to sell simpler models that sent out the card number on a synchronous signal; no idea how this one works.
