Default brotherhood of the wolf

im sure someone here has seen this film because no one i know in person has. i have a question that may sound a bit dumb but it is puzzling me. who was the gypse woman? and what was her purpose in the story? she seemingly just walked around and distracted mani for no apparent reason.

SPOILERS

I loveeeee this French film, very well
made, the gypsy woman is also trying to figure out where the wolf creature thing is coming from, hence she is there at the end and helps the blonde hair man by poisoning him to look like he is dead to the bad guys so he can escape.

END SPOILERS

I thought the the gypsie woman was part of the evil people club, that had the beast and stuff. I could be wrong though. It was a good movie, I watched it for my french class.

The gypsy woman was with the hunters working for the brotherhood. Her father was the old man that was caring for the beast and they were the two that were saved during the opening. The whore/spy from the vatican, was the one that poisoned him and helped him destroy the brotherhood.

Just how fucking insane some women can get... which is not to say that some guys out there don't tweak, but we are talking about the weird gypsy woman.
I couldn't figure out what her role was as far as the plot goes, she seemed to be not only a distraction to the movie watcher but also to the characters in the film, or vice versa.

exactly what i was thinking. what i suspect is that she had a role but was edited out due to character conflict or movie length. temp did you see it at the theater or rent the dvd and watch the cut scenes? to totally understand the movie and all of the characters you have to see the cut scenes with the director commentary.

I had tried to get it on dvd for a few weeks, after I saw your post I just said fuck it and rented the vhs version, suprisingly my vcr still works. If I get the opportunity to watch it again, it will definately be the dvd version.
