Default A thought about the Freemason/Illuminati thing

I've been reading about the whole Freemason conspiracy and I have one question: What exactly do they hope to accomplish with all their efforts? Is there a book someone can recommend to me for more information?

I, personally, stick to the mantra that one should believe none of the things they hear and only half of the things they see, but even if HALF of the things I've read so far are true, as far as the long-range planning and effort involved with the whole Illuminati/Freemason thing, then I'm impressed.

It's just that one-world government is so silly to imagine(or aspire to), what with religious fanatics, isolationists, and so-called non-conformist free-thinking--and that's just here in the USA! There'd have to be too much bloodshed and violence, and the world hasn't forgotten Hitler. Even if they can make the New World Order *sound* good to some, others will fight to the death to oppose it--they'll FIND a reason to.

Yet this vast conspiracy is there, with enough evidence to intrigue me at least. I'd just like to know a little more about the big idea, if you know what I mean, to see what direction they want all this money and manpower to go, how they can use it to accomplish anything at all.

Any ideas? Thanx.

AHHHHH! not the masons......my friend has been reading up on the masons for a while now...and he has been informing me on what they are up to....kinda creepy....a bunch of rich old guys with the idea they are right can only lead to bad things....lets hope that everything out there is rumor....if its not..then the rest of us are being set up.....if the masons had it their way...they would be running everything...and the rest of us wouldnt have a chance...my advise...stay away, far far away from them

unless you want to infiltrate their system and find out the real stuff....then hey count me in

If looking for the "trth", yes...

...if looking for the truths, NO!

David V Barrett is seemingly so sceptical that he is boring, but his Secret Societies gives a good balance to the more speculative books (and sites) on the subject.

First some interesting readin, including a short, adequate description of David Icke, and then a link to the book Secret Societies by David V Barrett, at the bottom of the page.

The Occult Conspiracy by Michael Howard gives the best full story overview I have yet come across:
http://epinions.com/book_mu-2622696

An overview of another kind is this book:
http://cruzio.com/~blackops/

For a closer, well researched, look at the Freemansons:
http://www.hiddenmysteries.com/item100/item189.html

You will not find a lot about NWO, Greys or "the Illuminati" in these books, but you will find some about the Ancient and Illuminated Seers of Bavaria, and a lot about the actual, unglamorous conspiracies of this world. Not the whole truths (plural) but parts of them...

There are also about a dozen of older topics here that you can read, to get more views, including my own.

Some topics have obvious names. To those could be added the less obvious:

TOTSE (by farwah)

and

Americas plan to take over the world and why...

There is no one conglomerate of politicians, businessmen or masonic manipulators who control Control. They do however administer its needs...

FoxL:
Thank you for the reading list, it will keep me busy for a while. And let me clarify that just because I recommended those other books doesn't mean I believe everything in them, it was just for a referrence point to learn more about the Freemasons agenda. And David Icke is a windbag. I've also read the threads in totse you suggested and I'm more enlightened and amused than I ever hoped to be, So thanks again.
