Default The Matrix Has You...

Wake up Neo. You are a tiny battery in the economy. You see what the matrix wants you to see. You think what the matrix wants you to think.

We live in the Matrix.

I never really understood how to deal with people who related to 'The Matrix' on such a solemn level, like you. Of course, only the Health Department really does. They have guidelines. Involving latex gloves, Lysol, and boiling water.

The original Matrix didn't crash because it was a perfect world and humans needed pain to relate to their environment. It crashed because the AI systems that created it borrowed the source code from Windows 95.

"Whole crops were lost," indeed. The term 'Blue Screen of Death' takes on a far more literal meaning.

The Matrix is the media. We are all plugged into the mainframe. Work longer hours to pursue a lifestyle you cant afford, so your children can be babysat by the Matrix. The next generation has no hope.

With ACTIVELY as the key-word. It wont come to us automatically, nor will the "incarceration" actually. Its just that there is less resistance if we follow that path...

Fox, with some it does come automatically. That need to be a... rebel? Incarceration only occurs when they refuse to acknowledge the obvious. Ignorance. True, there is less resistance. Yet why should we not deviate from the norm? We are all the same. Why not strive to be unique? To be different???

In the particular case we are talking about, it would actually be good if the very opposite of the norm became a norm in itself. If not to the extent that it actually hampers individuality.

The ideas put forward in The Matrix are science fiction. This is obvious, right? Right? Am I alone in seeing this as a sci fi movie? Has the human mind really merged with 'pictures' so much that adults cannot seperate what is a movie from reality? Or what about the semi-naked model on the magazine cover that stares suggestively but blankly from a magazine rack as you stand in line at the grocery store---do any of you think that she is actually smiling suggestively AT YOU????

Sheesh.

So, if the Matrix the movie is accurate, then Henry Kissenger and co. are in reality computer generated images that an alien life form projects into our minds via wires while we lay entombed in a giant test tube? Literally. And somebody's gonna rescue us from the incubator in a spaceship, huh? Then we can fight the REAL DR. Kissinger in his true ALIEN form, huh? And we'll use the machine the aliens built against them and reprogram it, and um, this middle aged black woman is going to bestow some kind of wisdow on us from her soul kitchen, and we'll save our fellow man with some weird spiritual force that remains unidentified, like all New Age Bull-Pussy? Huh? Well?

Right.

Frankly, I think any episode of The Three Stooges is more reflective of our society's dilemna. Moe is the Government. Larry is the bureacracy, and Curly is the common man. Shemp is the army and law enforcement, and Curly Jr. is---you guessed it: the Conspiracy Theorist!

But the real question is, who is Moe 'REALLY' taking directions from? And is the "Woman Hater's Club" really just a front for the "Passive-Aggressive Policy Wonks of The Americas" club?

Think of all the reprocussions though.

Uniqueness can be tweaked, and has so many possible formations that it is impossible for it to become mainstream. A subjects quirks define that. Almost time for me to hit the sack.

You dumb clown. The matrix is real. Every aspect of our lives is based on the matrix. To refuse the matrix is to acknowledge its existence. Your clothes, your house, your car, television, music, movies, all working in concert to keep you in the matrix.

Communism was destined to fail, it was a ploy to reinforce the infant matrix.

Rebelling against the matrix means not liking what the matrix is and trying to change it. You can't get your message across to the masses, because all the majority knows is the matrix they've been working for, if you stand on the corner trying to spread your message, people just write you off as a hippie freak, this is the matrix's self-defence system. Non-conformist = not important.

Casting a different light on the matrix and seriously talking of alternatives is dangerous, and one day agent Smith will come for you, if your ideas start gaining momentum.

Mankind does not need to be enslaved by the matrix. A prison with flowers and curtains and bunnies is nonetheless a prison.

For some it's not enough. For some it doesn't define them enough, they're unsatisfied. One can look for plenty of things they do not have, and if they can't find it, they make it. [wow these posts are vague]

Now that I finally know what you're talking about, I agree!! Yet I have to differ. You are unqiue in your own right, and values aren't based on the matrix. Well indirectly perhaps, but your values are determined by something completly different from the Matrix.

Have you been hiding under a rock? Try going to RTF. Try watching the news. Countless protests, if that's not obvious I'm not sure what is.

There are plenty of anarchists out there that rebel the system. Or do you consider that conformity as well?

SHIT its dark in here, but this must be it, I guess...

Excuse me... I was asked to deliver some pink bunnies and clean bedclothes to a cell somewhere here... To someone called...eh...Dion... it says on my note...no 23 digit ID number, what I can see... thats odd...

Ah, now I see...the name on the cell door!
...but number 500 something, that doesnt make sense... twenty digits missing?!

Damned dark corridors in this place... 15 Watt bulbs?! REDICULOUS!!

It needs at least 50 Watt bulbs...

Well, anyway... can I put the bunnies and bedclothes right here... and the delivery note... it has to be signed you know...

You still know how to write your number I hope?! Otherwise I cant deliver... they are very strict on that... those who loose their numbers loose ALL rights now...

For their own good They say...but Im not so sure... cant brake the rules though, can we?!

Just sign here please mister 500 something...eh Dion... you DO remember your number... or....

Mr Nuts!

As much as you have pulled the plug already, I guess you might check in, when passing by, so let me just say this.

First of all, I cant be held responsible for what the Matrix guys do when using my totse keyes. And, as Lionheart knows, I cant refuse the Matrix or its personell anything.

Then I must say that this thread was out of bounce from the start. Nobody here seems to be sure about the subject; is it the Matrix as in the film with that name, or are we discussing the real Matrix, or are we using it as a metaphor for media indoctrination?

If the latter is true, as I first came to believe, why is the originator of this topic hyper-ventilating, seemingly believing the second alternative to be true. In wich case he couldnt have started this topic, of course. Then we are left with the first alternative, and this topic should be moved to the Media Community, as far as I can understand...

In wich case you will probably not pass by to read this...

Last time I checked the Matrix was being used as a metaphor for daily life.

At first this topic suttered, but while now on track, it's valid to me.

I am using the Matrix as a metaphor for media indoctrination. The majority of people are clueless to the existence of the "Matrix", some of us are Morpheus types, others are Neo types, a few are Cypher types.

Almost every event in the Matrix relates to media indoctrination (capitalism!) and its influence on the shaping of our current society.

I think Communism was destined to fail. So capitalism would ultimatly prevail. Sort of like a vaccination. Especially because communism was developed by the Jews. If communism had prevailed the centuries of business wisdom they had accrued would have meant nothing. Capitalism for them is like a stoners immune system to a virus.

That I can agree on, but it does not necessesarily mean the "Matrix" is powerfull enough to control all and everybody, as you seem to imply in your posts above.

The fact that we are here, writing posts like these, is proof enough that the "Matrix" is not in total control.

The fact that the "Matrix" can be discussed and critizised this way, and harder, also in media supposedly controlled by the "Matrix", is even more and better proof that the "Matrix" is far from the control you talk about.

This is not to ignore the risks. A lot of people take the seemingly easy way, following along with - what they believe to be - "most people".

Still, when meeting people and discussing with them for a while, you realize you meet very few "most people". "Most people" are still like most people: individuals, in their minds and private deeds.

More and more people get together to voice their oppinions against part of the system(s), including the media "Matrix". And as much as the media makes "infotainment" out of it in one sense, they still give these protests a lot of room. More than enough for more people to search info on the protesting organisations, and join.

If this is the "Matrix" at work, it is seemingly fighting itself, to some extent. Or is it a genious Masterplan, that includes these contradictions? Are the protesters controlled by the "Matrix" as well?

quote:
Almost every event in the Matrix relates to media indoctrination (capitalism!) and its influence on the shaping of our current society.

Capitalism is actually a political system with its own set of rules, just as Marxism. You should perhaps have written Free Market Capitalism, to come closer to the truth of what is foremost promoted today. Adn yet again it is easy to find that this promotion is not without resistance, also in what is supposedly parts of the "Matrix" itself; i.e. "ordinary"/big media.

quote:
I think Communism was destined to fail.

Destined yes. Even Marx aknowleged that at the end. But you dont really mean destined, you mean "designed", dont you?

Because that is what you say when you say:

quote:
So capitalism would ultimatly prevail. Sort of like a vaccination.

This says that Communism was some kind of hoax. A construction to make capitalism (wich it isnt if you mean whats happening today) become stronger by some weird detour.

Anybody around with one of Occams razors?!

And then the revelation of the ultimate and irrefutable truth:

quote:
Especially because communism was developed by the Jews.

Oh, I see! Now it all makes sense to me! Including that it was Stalins Secret police who wrote the so called Protocolls of the Elders of Zion, to miscredit the Jews. But that was of course just another Jewish smoke screen?!

Having come this far, I understand that I am replying to this post in vain.

But there are other readers at totse, who havent had the ultimate truth revealed to them (yet).

We ARE at risk to get more and more indoctrinated by media, while media in the same time are conforming to each other, and to the seemingly "winning" system at the moment. But the media is far from being the "Matrix", nor is media (yet) in the hands of only one side/one group. We better keep it that way!

Yes, it is time to wake up!

But not time to wake up, to say, "Ooops! Too late!", as Lionheart actually says it is.

It is time to wake up and say: "Now is the time to do something about it!"

It is time to force the media, as well as the politicians, and other adminstrators of the needs of Control, to realize that they are supposed to serve us, and not the other way around.

To paraphrase Frank Zappa:

Democracy is not dead, it only smells funny.

No one conglomerate of businessmen, or politicians, or media, or Masonic manipulators control Control. They do however administer its needs.

REality is receptive to you (in fact, reality is a tool to help you realize yourself). We each live in a matrix (which we call reality) of events and other concious forces (all of which percieve reality differently). The collective force of all the conciousnesses then create what is coming to be, which in the case of conspiricy, is that teh government (which is a figment of your imagination, just like the MIB) makes power grabs, its because of the collective conciousness has let it happen (usually through maipualtion and non-involvment with the rest of reality).

Just to muddle the point rather well: the government, as it has come to be known and formed, has delcared us artificial entities (known as'persons') who do not actually exist (and thus have no rights, no freedoms, no liberty, etc. . .).

Not that any of this actually clarifies anything.
