Ha! I don't HAVE a cellphone. Too bad for Uncle Sham. Of course, its true that cellphones can be used to trace people, its called triangulation and all they need is three cellphone transitter/reciever connections to more or less pinpoint you (so long as you stay on the cellphone while your moving).

yep, and with GPS coming in on a lot of new phones they'll be able to track you a lot better then with triangulation. Right down to just where youn are standing.
I guess to most people it dosen't matter if they are tracking you, the only people they would probly want to track are crazy conspiracy theorists.
But,its important to have privacy from the goverment because you might not have a major
problem with them at the moment but mabye someday they will decide to do something you really dont like and you won't be able to do anyhting about it because of devices they have in place like being able to track you, that you didn't really mind being put in place at the time but once they are there, if you want rid of them and the goverment dosent it is difficult.

Every cell phone made after 2006 will be required to have GPS by law. They will be able to track your location to within a 10 foot radius. This is, of course, "only" for 911 calls.

Anyway, cellphone technology=tracking device. More than likely, put a battery in a high powered cell phone and you definitely feel something, not to mention the radiation which is how they tell you to do things without you knowing it.
They know who you are, if they don't, THEN and only then do you have the need to worry.

I can't see someone sitting in a room monitoring the positions of every single citizen of the country. Sure, a mobile phone can be used to trace your position. But if you really don't want anyone to record where you are then it's pretty simple not to take a mobile with you.

so i guess a computer is watching where ever single phone goes. what do they hope to gain from this. who vists stip clubs? there is no illegal places to go. and if there are, a camera kinda does a better job.
what would the government get out of millions paid to mobile carriers, thousands of computers doing nothing and then millions of man hours of people checking the results???
they would find out information that is not hard to get. they could ask the nieghbour, 'where did he go?'.

Well how do you know that they wouldn't take the time to check things like that. Maybe alot of shit has happened that you don't know about and if it weren't for tracking devices then you would know about it. So be glad people are being tracked. Someone could've wanted to blow somethin up, but they caught it in time to prevent it from becoming a catastrophe and a press field day. No one really knows for sure whats goin on in this country except the people that run it, and no not GW, people higher in power than him.

Hes right, they can track you using cellphones. They know exactly where they are, AND keep records of what you say over tyhe phone.The y have to do this by law and must allow the police ect to hear the recordings if they want. If it was wanted they could track where a individual is all the time using satalite tracking. They know what you are doing because they can hear clearly what you are saying. Also if they wanted to they could you off instanly as they could shut down your account. And dont think you are safe because you use the landlines, they monitor these to and keep records. They can track you using credit cards and other electronics, plus they know then what you are buying. Theres nothing to stop the company from putting a tracker or a sound bug into your walkman.

The FBI didn't have enough man power to follow-up on leads about the incident prior to 9/11 so how or I should say who in the hell is doing all this tracking?
Can they? Sure to a degree...
Do they? When the reason deems fit...
I don't think they give a rats ass when I make a call on the fly taking a dump on the toilet seeing if my buddies want to go out for beers...
