Default Freedom.

(edit: Guess no HTML)

If you wished to control people, the best way is to give them false sense of freedom.

If someone knows they are being controlled, they have a target. If someone has a false sense of freedom, they think they are free and
therefor easier to control.

Get it?

Also, as even in the movie the matrix - its easier to control the masses when you have them police eachother. Set up sides, and make them fight eachother. Democrats vrs Republicans. Muslims vrs Christians. While everyone is busy arguing over thier religion and political stance while the people at 'top' control all sides.

This is how, of course, the few control the many. Until more people realize this it will stay that way.

Problem-Reaction-Solution

The best way to further your agenda, and implement laws in society that otherwise the majority of the people would be against, you create a problem-reaction-solution.

First you create a problem.

Of course there would be a public reaction, and as most of the public gets scared easily - they say "something MUST be done!"

So you offer a solution. Which is, of course excepted - but otherwise probably wouldn't have been unless the 'problem' came along.

Infact, documents about a plan to sway public opinion to attack Cuba surfaced last year through the freedom of information act.

Name Operation: Northwoods, the plan detailed placing bombs in cities, shooting down civilian planes and blaming the acts on Cuba.

Perfect example of Problem-Reaction-Solution.

I can think of a few other times *wink wink* this plan has worked.

Of course, i'm not asking you to believe any of this, but its something everyone should consider.

Also, someone made a comment that fits in with this 100%:

When people think about doing something, standing up for what they believe, or to change something - They do not think "gee, I wonder what George Bush will think of me!?", They think "I wonder what my friends and family will think of me?" For most that is what stops them. I'm not exlcuding myself in this statement, BTW.

Its just another way the people police each other.
