Now, I don't know how many of you have experienced this phenomenon yet. In fact, I don't know if it's hit outside the country, or if it started outside the country, or what; but it's Goddamn creepy.

You know, I'm standing at the bus stop one day. Cars zooming by, street cars clattering by, bus honking by, people streaming by, and in the far distance you can hear barges booming over the Bay. And all of a sudden up glides some guy on a scooter. Aluminum or something of that sort and concentrating on not falling over.

The day goes by.

The next day, you're at the same place, with the cars and the buses and the street cars and that old barge and the guy on the scooter glides pass you, followed by some chick on a scooter. You've never seen those scooters before, but there go two.

The day goes by.

The next day, same place, same cars, buses, street cars, barges, and there's suddenly four people scooter! The next day: Eight! The next: Sixteen! Soon! THE WHOLE CITY WAS TAKEN OVER BY SCOOTERS!

Old people, young people, men and women alike, short and tall, all riding on these crazy little scooters that seemly popped up over night and took over the world, splashing over the city like a fucken tsunami and I'm just drowning. Choking for help! AAHHHH!!!

Here in the heartland of America, Illinois, the scooters are just as crazy. And asked one kid if he liked his scooter, or got it just to be trendy. Haven't seen him for a while. Saw a kid today who hooked an outboard motor to his scooter and was fucking zooming around like crazy. Didn't have enough time to ask him what the fuck was going on with him, he was doing a good 40 mph!!!

Take up arms my brothers and sisters! (I doubt anyone here needs to repent for scootering, so I'm not gonna scream that) We must drive this evil back to the bad place mentioned in your religions!

I'd like a scooter, but I wouldn't pay for one. They do neat tricks on the TV...and they appear to be a efficant mode of transport...but a $100, that's crazy.

as one of the prominent skate rats in my town i hold a special animosity for the two wheeled wonders....i too noticed the fact that everyone had one...but then i realize...they cant go on rails...their riders would be kicked the shit out of if they went to the skate park..and the fact that you cant get over one foot of air with them (unless thrown...then they are known to clear heights of 15 feet)...and soon enough they will be like soaps...those little shoes with grind plates on the soles...yea...they too were popular for all of three months...it will pass...i will still be there every day skating and skating will live on....

i used to have a scooter when i was seven. Steel frame, plastick deck, 6" wheels that actually held air. That was the Shit. One time i did a wheelie and turned the front wheel sideways, but didn't turn it back around when i landed. You wouldn't believe how far the broken nose came from being the Shit.
