How To Actually Make Money
Okay, I'm actually quite tired of seeing so many topics on making money recently, and, looking back through the archives, there have been a good number of them, with the same answers each time. Hope some of the ideas here help...
1.) "Slugging" Vending machines - this involves the use of substitutes for coins in vending machines, such as a type 14 brass washer for a dime. If you find the right machine, and put in a slug, then press the coin return, you'll get real money. However, some hardware dealers sell the slug equivalents of a dime for a dime each anyways, so that a profit cannot be made by them.
2.) Burning mixed CDs for people you know actually works, if there is no competition at your place, but it really sucks when you have fifty people trying to have you mix CDs for them in one night. When you get to that point, you usually quit.
3.) "Coining" vending machines is the almost-equivalent of slugging, but it involves the use of foreign coins. There should be a topic on this already, but the basic idea is to find cheaper foreign coins the same size as an American coin, and use it to turn a profit in a vending machine.
4.) "Tissuing" vending machines requires the least amount of work, and the only thing you have to do is stake out vending machines, and stuff tissue into the coin return slot, then check it daily for the change people have lost out on.
5.) If you've got a thing for sports, and are good at guessing which team or side is going to win, you could start making sports bets. Can be profitable, but you can lose a hell of a lot of money very quickly; there's a book on this by James Jeffries, printed by Paladin Press - if you're considering taking this up, read that book.
6.) If you play cards alot, you should start using it to turn a profit, especially at parties and the like. Simple games like Blackjack can turn a good profit, but, like above, you can lose a good amount, and, if you keep on winning, people will become pretty pissed at you.
7.) Identity theft for loans, where you steal somebody's identity, and sign up for a bank account under the person's name, then take out a loan for X amount of money, take out the money, and never use the account again, can be extremely profitable, and you don't deal with other people, except for the banker(s), but this is especially illegal, and can get you in more trouble than most of the above.
Just some ideas, maybe they'll do some good.
