Default Shoplift Plan, please evaluate

This plan basically allows you to buy two things for the price of one, and doesn't really rely on a blind spot in the store. Please let me know what you think. I'm not actually going to go forth with this plan, but I'm curious if it might work.

-= Requirements =-
- You previously bought an item from the store
- Store allows exchanges
- Store places stickers on items you bring in that you want
to exchange (Besst Buy does it)
- You can hide items well in the store
- You have a razorblade
- Sticker can be removed without damage
- Store carries items with opened boxes (that previous
customers have returned)
- An open box is available for the gadget you want to steal
-= The Plan =-
1) Identify a popular item 'GADGET' you want that:
- Other ppl touch alot in the store
- Other ppl exchange alot
- Is light in weight
- Is fairly expensive
- Is small in size
- Has other similar brands
- Can be grabbed off the shelf (salesperson doesn't have
to fetch) eg. video card
2) Visit store in the AM with a legitimate item "to exchange"
(eg. a 'CAMERA' you bought there)
3) Collect the sticker for the day ('OLDSTICKER') on CAMERA
from the security guard at the front door
4) Find a GADGET in stock where an open box model exists
('OPENBOXGADGET')
5) Purchase a _new_ GADGET:
- Hide OPENBOXGADGET
- Do not exchange CAMERA (you need the sticker for later).
- Be sure to get a big bag when purchasing.
6) Leave store, go home
7) Remove sticker from old item with razorblade at home. Do
not damage sticker!
8) Open box for GADGET and remove GADGET
9) Insert el cheapo duplicate ('FAKEGADGET') in box
10) Return to store:
- With FAKEGADGET in your big Besst Buy bag
- With undamaged sticker
- Around nood
- Preferably when store is busy
- Preferably at a time when there are alot of
returns/exchanges (after holidays)
11) Collect the sticker for the day ('NEWSTICKER') on
FAKEGADGET
- Must be identical to the sticker you brought with you
12) Go to where OPENBOXGADGET item is stocked (your hiding
place)
- Act like you're checking out different models
13) Place OLDSTICKER on OPENBOXGADGET ("i brought this one
in") discretely
14) Put OPENBOXGADGET in your big bag along with identical
FAKEGADGET
15) Walk around a bit
16) Go hide OPENBOXGADGET again
17) Leave store with FAKEGADGET
18) See if security stops you
- You haven't stolen anything yet!!
19) Go home, remove NEWSTICKER from FAKEGADGET
20) Come back a few hours later that day and bring along
FAKEGADGET
- Come back with a lot of money in your pocket if you get
caught
21) Go to find OPENBOXGADGET item with OLDSTICKER (your hiding
place)
22) Put OPENBOXGADGET in big bag along with FAKEGADGET
23) Walk toward exchanges, pause, call someone, turn back
around and return to where you found OPENBOXGADGET ("you
changed your mind")
24) Put FAKEGADGET on shelf (OPENBOXGADGET is still in your
bag)
25) Leave store with OPENBOXGADGET as soon as possible
- Let security guard at exit see OLDSTICKER on
OPENBOXGADGET
- Security guard will assume OPENBOXGADGET is FAKEGADGET
- Security alarm will sound as you exit
- Act coy and a little annoyed, it was a false alarm,
accomidate security guard if necessary

Disguise tactics for your 3rd visit:
- "You feel welcome here"
- Inquire a salesperson about the return/exchange policy on
your 3rd visit there
- Check out similar items
- Write down prices

Holy shit you are stupid. That is way too complex, and where are you going to get an "el cheapo" digital camera, webcam, ect.... that actually looks like the real thing, and doesnt say valu-pix on the side?

sorry man, i got half way and gave up. i'll tell ya 2 ways though.

in target people just open something in a big box and take it out then put a more expensive but smaller thing inside. they do this with gamecubes alot.

also, with stores that have a "cant beat our price" policy where they match a competitors' price. just go onto a site with the product, edit the html to make it cheap and print it out. my friend got a cd-rw drive for 40 bucks like this back when they were really expensive.

lol, the same friend also baught a new palm, switched the guts with his old one and returned it. heh, old case, new guts.

I tend to think good plans are ones that are well thought out.

My plan would well for video card. You could easily put in a really old card and the security guard probably wouldn't know the difference. Same goes for an hard drive.

As far as I see it, this plan has minimal risk, because you don't need a blind spot and you don't have to interact with anyone other than the stupid security guard at the front door.

well.. its not really stealing is it....
problems:
arsing about putting things into bags, out of bags, will only attract attention.
if you attract the attnetion of the security guard they will watch you very very very closely so you be screwed.
it also all depends on how you look. if you are young, and wearing a hoodie, you are immediately classed as a enemy and security guards do target locked on thing. however,if you can still make your self look cute and young and chubby and innocent...go for it!
it sucks being kleptomanic.see something and want it,dont usually tend to go away and think rationally on how to get it.... damn...

Try this...

Buy an item, leave and put that item in your car.

Go back in to the store with the stores bag and receipt in you pocket.

Get the same item again, put it in the bag and leave!

I like that idea bangbangbooty, especially for stores like Walmart that have an electronics department where you can buy stuff before you get to the front. You can buy other things there too if you get a video or something. They also have some videos that are not in the electronics section. You could grab one of those along with other items and go into electronics and pay for it there. Then you can see how they react when you leave by walking by the counters in front. When you come back for your refill, you don't need to go back into electronics and later you can return or exchange the duplicate stuff. You may want to sneek the same video back in under your coat if they had to deactivate the sensor. It should be next to impossible to get caught.

I read bangbangbootys idea, and had a great idea related to Walmart. If there is no security guard outside electronics, have your friend "steal" a small item from electronics, I.E. a computer game, while you steal stuff elsewhere. Your freind walks right through, and starts running. He will trip that alarm. Wait near the detectors. Your friend throws the CHEAP game through the detectors, and shortly after the guard there responds to him, run thorugh yourself and leave. your friend should follow. You could probably get away with a cart of stuff if ur fast.
