using electric outlet for lighter
I hear that it is possible to light a fire using an electric outlet w/o shorting out the outlet and/or harming yourself due to electricution, etc. Is this possible? Thanks.

Re: using electric outlet for lighter
Yes you can light fire, you can also make a kettle that will boil water in about 30 seconds using a power outlet, wire and 2 razor blades. But unless your in a prison cell why would you want to. Dont fuck with mains power unless you know what your doing. I would hate to see you get fried!

Re: using electric outlet for lighter
I was playing with that idea today... Take an oln iron, vaccum cleaner, or whatever and cut the plug off, leaving about a few feet. Separate either wires (one is your +, the other -). Strip them and buy some heavy duty electrcians glves and/or a rubber mat. Stans on the mat and put the gloves on. Get a can of butane, and put a spray nozzle (from WD-40 or any toehr aerosol container.) on the end. Tie one of the wires to a 3 foot stick(with some electric tape for a safer grip. )Tape the butane/famable spray nozzle down so it is a continuous spray. Plug the wire into the socket. Now, quickly strike the two wires togethor in front of the spray. WOOSH.
YOu could also tie the wires togethor, and plug it in. I've done this to schools and whatnot and shorted the systems out...
