not happening to me, but to a friend of mine

what would you do if someone close to you was threatened with violence by someone whos pretty serious ? someone with a record for violent crime.

would visiting the police be a good idea ? going around in a group to be safer ? avoiding places that guy might go to ? or would you consider taking more drastic action ? if so, what would you do ?

i dont think its that serious with my friend, but im sure a lot of people get threatened, and im just curious as to how youd act.

Why is your friend being threatened in the first place?

err , long story. his dad is trying to get some change, and those opposing it have some dodgy people on their side. political you could say.

is the guy bigger then u, i mean u could go to the cops, wont do much but its a start, if ur bigger then bash him, if he's bigger then i suggest get help. or if ur about same size, umm blackmail him. oh u can carry a knife or a gun around and he'll get the message. if worst comes to worst, drop ur daks and moon him :S

Assuming both you and your friend, espically your friend has a clean criminal record then you've already got the benefit of the doubt in any situation that arises.

After all he's a prior offender.

now theres the common sense i like to see on totse. the gun idea is good too. there is only one person who can protect you, thats yourself.

yea, the guy is a big fellow, and a good fighter too

its not just him, its just the dodgy friends he might use to try any shit. cos a bunch of thugs like him, armed with bats and stuff would pretty much make us into mincemeat

hes been done for armed robbery, assault, stealing, etc. pretty serious sort of guy.

we would feel much safer going around armed (handgun), but its highly illegal in australia. wouldnt want to get caught, and if one of us did have to use it, im sure we would go down for posession of an illegal firearm.

had a restraining order taken out already. we travel in a group and generally try and avoid going to places where we might bump into him.

alternative defence:

BB zipgun, loaded with salt cartriage...

it kind of work like a shotgun but it
is 6mm caliber...

a BB might not ward them off, but a shot
of salt into the face might be irritating...

shooting BB might just be fine as well,
as they do more damage than spring
pistols...

or get a .22 pellet(lead) gun and use it for defence...
(use sharp-point pellets or ball bearing)


For my case, if threatened by anyone...
i will make myself a BB zipgun + extra
rounds...
and buy a sharp-pointed comb...
for self defence...

and let my family know that im threatened by
this guy, they might have some solution...

dont go and provoke him further or he might
carry out his threat...

apply a court protection order/ personal
protection order to keep him cool...

if he violates the order, sue him so that
he goes to jail...

in worst scenario (being attacked)
do not hestitate to use your gadgets...

a punch in the side chin is lethal...
a shot from a BB zipgun in the throat...
a stab in the stomach with a pointed comb...
a stab in the throat with a pointed comb...
(weak point of a man is his balls and his
throat, attack these points for most effect)


(in singapore it is legal to kill the
attacker if he tries to kill you,
i dont know if it is true in australia)

I say, go to some martial arts like karate or jiu jutsu or some thing, and if he wants to fight, remember there's no such thing as "dirty" fighting. Do whatever you need to survive. I like biting. ;D

Shoot him and his friends in the leg. That way they would live a crippled life and won't be able to catch anyone.

I think the answer is around you. Take an empty glass beer bottle, fill it with gasoline, sand and soap suds, then stick a rag or tampon soaked in gasoline in the neck. Carry it around in a sweatshirt pocket or bag, and that's the best self-defense other than firearms.

Why dont you just call the cops. It would be a lot easier than you having to worry about it for like 10 years waiting for him to kill you.
