Shoplifting From HMV
I was in HMV(music shop)the other day and i noticed that they dont seem to have any sort of security tags on singles. They have them on albums but not singles. Is this true or is it some sort of trick?

Re: Shoplifting From HMV
Probably no trick. The hassle and cost involved in protecting the single is not justified. Although being from Australia am not familiar with the music store you are speaking about.
Just watch a purchase of a single and note if any anti-theft device is removed, or if they simply put in it a bag and let the customer walk out.
If the latter is the case well HAPPY SHOPPING!!!

Re: Shoplifting From HMV
i dont buy music, but i believe that singles are typically less expensive that full albums. stores typically place tags on their higher priced goods and high theft goods. singles i guess are less important to secure than comples cds i guess.

Re: Shoplifting From HMV
man in aberdeen, all the albums have is a little sticky tag on them. all you do is rip it off and throw it on the ground, insert CD in pocket. DVDs are same. they make it really easy to steal from there.
why even bother stealing singles? singles suck dick.

Re: Shoplifting From HMV
Simple. I steel the single and take it back the next day for a refund-which in effect is getting me about 3-4 each time? Now you see the point?

Re: Shoplifting From HMV
I TOLD YOU ALL READY Deathrow588
Read the posts!!!
Watch someone buy a single...ok...then watch to see if the staff remove a security device.
But have fun making a living boosting CDs and returning them for a couple of dollars! This will only work a few times as the shop will not give you a refund after a while as they will think you are burning the CD and returning it. The only real reason they get for a person returning a CD is that is scratched. They will just replace it for another identical CD...
LOL have fun anyways!!!

Re: Shoplifting From HMV
well in aberdeen once more, theres a record shop that takes 2nd hand stuff, for a well cheap price though. Thats why you steal albums.
albums value > singles value
albums size = singles size
albums are better to make money with man
