Remember me?
HEre a idea for a scam.
Go up to some one you see on a regular basis and talk to them. A person at the gym or something. Makes sure you are not familiar to them. Talk to them a bit, get a little of their history such as their name, high school past and some friends.
Then dont go to that place for a while and then go again. When you see em, pretend you are a old high school friend, say their name and mention some good times you had together. Then when the mood gets really good, act like you suddenly rembered they owe you money. Its good enough for a ten or twenty but the beauty of it is people are very absent minded that you could pull this off on the same person about a couple more times.

Re: Remember me?
Would work....but to pull something like this off will take months. They must like you, forget you. This is easy, but when you mention you are their high school buddy, they will probably remember you from the gym incidents and such. Who knows, but for 20 bucks or so, you need to do this on a large scale, possibly busting out the note books and speech recorders.....hundreds and thousands of high school buddies.

Re: Remember me?
reverse situation would you hand over 20$ of ready cash to some random no matter how much he knows you?
cause i know i wouldn't
anyway, wouldn't they remeber you from the time before, some people arnet easy to forget.
better yet, meet someone at a party whos pissed (no trouble there). talk to them and get lots of information. come back half an hour later, and do the whole school friend thing. that should work.

Re: Remember me?
I'm all for scamming but I wouldn't do this. Too much effort for the payoff being so small.

Actaully Im kidding about this scam but the idea for this came from a crimminal history book about legendary con artists and their scams. Its amazing what you can learn in the libary. This scam was common and probally still is common in las Vegas. How the scam works is three people work together. One looks for a tourist who is partly drunk, talk to him and get to know him a bit. People dont think nothing about talking about their collede days or high school days. Also where he or she is staying and what they are doing in town.(two other things people dont mind talking about.) THen a couple days later, another person of the team goes out and meets the perosn. Most likely a pretty woman. She strikes up a conversation pretends to be a long lostfriend or person from the tourist's past and then says "Hey since you are here for a good time, I know a great place to play cards. The payout aint bad either." The woman will take the tourist to some place where her friend would be there waiting with cards. The guy will let you win a bit at first but will fill you a bit with drinks and then begin to cheat big time (the mark wont notice the cheating because the guy is a magician with cards.) and the sucker will never win after their "lucky streak". Then the lady would egg on the mark to get more cash from a atm or something like that until the mark is clean. [This message has been edited by gombowlzombie (edited 10-29-2002).]
