Ok, I know where the usual vins are on cars. But does anyone know where the hidden vins are? Like where the state patrol looks when a stolen car is recovered or abandoned?

It depends on the car. Many have it inside the engine compartment. Quite a few have it on the engine block, but that's subject to change.
