Fun at the border.
Go visit one of the busier border crossings...say, Nogales.
Go over into Mexico and buy some pot. Buy the cheap stuff, just make sure it's the real deal.
Now, put your hand (any hand) in the bag. Make sure you coat your hand liberally with pot residue.
Now, hang out just outside of the border crossing and as people walk buy, slap them on the back and say "Thanks for visiting Mexico!".
As they go through the border inspection the drug sensing dogs will pick up on the pot residue and they will get pulled into the back for "examination".
Lastly, don't forget to dump your stash and wash your hands before going back across the border!

Unless you plan on taking a wash and cleaning your clothes, dump it.
If you toke and cross the border the drug dogs will hump you right into the back room.

Re: Fun at the border.
WYD?:
You mean you've actually seen dope dogs sniffing people at Nogales? If so, the Supreme Court will want to hear from you.
A really cool thing to do is let the dope dogs sniff you! Then when the cops don't find anything you can sue the bejeezus outta them... cuz, in part, the Supreme Court already said that a sniff of a person without a warrant is an unconstitutional warrantless search. Of course that only applies to our side of the border...

Re: Fun at the border.
Yes, there are drug sniffing dogs in Nogales.
I was there a few years ago and this guy in front of me was carrying some ceramic statues.
The dog ran up to him and went nuts after sniffing his statues. He was then pulled to a back room.
That when I got this idea. :)

Re: Fun at the border.
I know a dude who was caught by the dope dogs in McAllen. He had 10 lbs in a trashbag. They gave him a notice to appear, took his shit, and sent him on his way.
K9, are you sure it's considered a search? I had read somewhere that being sniffed does not constitute a search. I'm almost positive that this is the case. Let me try to find some documentation.
Documentation, it's from The Man, or at least one of his buddies, but still: http://www.policek9.com/Trainers_Digest/drugdog/body_drugdog.htm

Re: Fun at the border.
Really know they can't have dogs without a warrant. Are you sure, cause when i leave my city, laredo, a border town to mexico, to go to San Antonio, another town in texas, there is usually dogs. When was this Ruling? Cause then again i haven't left since mid summer.

Re: Fun at the border.
The sniff limitation applies to people, in most atates. The dogs can sniff luggage, bags, and such... but a sniff of a person crosses the line. Just like a search of a person by a cop. Must have probable cause to search/sniff.

Re: Fun at the border.
Here are a couple of citations:
B.C. v Plumas Unified School District (192 F. 3d 1260 (1999) Ninth Circuit The Ninth Circuit agreed with the Fifth Circuit. A dog sniff of a person infringes on a reasonable expectation of privacy and it constitutes a search. A random and suspicionless dog sniff search of a person is unreasonable.
Horton v Goose Creek Independent School District (690 F. 2d 470 (1982) Fifth Circuit The Fifth Circuit ruled that dogs sniffing of students person was a search under the Fourth Amendment. Canine searches of students persons could not be justified without reasonable suspicion.
In summary, the courts are still somewhat divided over this but the majority of the courts have ruled that a canine sniff of a person is a search. You must have (at a minimum) reasonable suspicion to conduct a canine sniff of a person.
Reasonable suspicion is what is required for an institution like say, a school, to get away with searches. The police (if a police search) still need to establish probable cause in order to even apply for a search warrant.
The borders are covered by dogs alright. But if they're being regularly used to randomly search people, I'd like to be one of the guys the dog searches, alerts on, then the cops can't find anything. That would violate my constitutional liberty by infringing on my reasonable expectation of privacy.

Correct beatme, but the articles are focused at baggage, autos, parking lots, and just about everything except people. It was the notion of placing a narcotic odor on a person's clothing (pat on the back) that prompted my interjection. IOW, the trash bag with 10 pounds of shit in it wasn't concealed on the guys person, therefor a dog can sniff it without jeopardizing the case. The traveler that shows no outward indication (likelihood) of being a drug toting mule is not fair game for a dog sniff. He/she is a candidate for a physical search at a border crossing or airport, though for any other myriad reasons.

As long as they aren't sniffing people you should be OK... but then in TX (and most of the southern tier states) state police set up "driver license checks" that would only be dreamed of in the northern states. In July I got stopped in SC for one of these DL checkpoints. I handed the cop my DL, upside down and watched as he walked around my vehicle looking for indications of drug trafficking. He returned the DL (still upside down) and told me to have a nice day. He probably would've had one of theri dogs check my car but my Malinois (in the back seat) might have made him reluctant to do so. BTW, you know what southern cops call Malinois dogs, dontcha?

Re: Fun at the border.
In Nogales, they had a dog just walking up and down the line of people waiting to pass through the border.
