Default Any help would be appreciated.....

A friend and I are getting ready to pull off a house job and are wondering if anyone can give us any advice on gaining entry through windows silently. We have read and practice about everything we could find on the internet, but we just want to make sure that there isn`t anything that we`ve over looked or just don`t know. We`ve done this kind of thing before, but this is in a really snobby neighborhood and these people would be quick to call the cops if they seen or heard anything suspicious so we wanna make this one well planned and quick and quiet. We want this to be almost as professional as possible for our amount of experience. Like i said, we`ve done this sort of thing before but in a worse neighborhood and it was a "smash a window, take what you can get, and leave" sort of thing. So any knowledge that can be shared about window and door entry, and/or alarms would be greatly appreciated.

Then again if you have some creditable information about a homeowner who is going to be out of town. Has a valuable antique vase. And you have a fence for the goods. Why not?

After all that's why i've got home owners insurance (including a couple pit bulls, bear traps when i'm away from the homefront). Otherwise i feel sorry for the SOB who breaks into my house while i'm at home. I awake at night to the littlest noise (reason why i'm online at 6:am) and always have a gun on me.

Since the title of your topic is:

Any help would be appreciated.....

I join the other three respondants and say that your post is on the right (and in your case, APPROPRIATELY NAMED) forum.

Don't know how old you are, but don't let age stand in the way from you beginning to think like a man.

This one time some stupidasses tried robbing a house around 1:00 PM, I saw them and ran over and beat them with this huge rod I had in my garage, it was pretty funny, they had no idea I saw them.

Besides all the middle-school remarks, does anyone have an intelligent tip for us? I thought this board was for things like this, not a bunch of 16 year olds that think they are cool for bitching at someone over the internet. It`s easy money people. Thats what it boils down to. And I don`t have to be a man to realize that. These people are very rich. They have numerous amounts of expensive electronic equipment, and many other trinkets of value. Whether or not we get any useful info from anyone here doesn`t matter. We are still going through with this. All i asked for was a tip or some advice; not a bunch of highschoolers with an attitude problem. So if anyone with half a brain wants to step out of the haze, feel free to do so.

However, this part of your post sounds like you could use a little high school. For you, English class would be a good start.

whats the point in posting if no one can understand your posts.
how is robbing somones house a form of art. they are either smash and grab deals, or they are terrorise the people. neither of them need any type of skill or inteligence. i can see how doing big jobs and movie stlye things (don't bother saying anything, i know that movies arnet real) could be considered art, but not robbing houses.
its about as artful as pissing on a wall.

RAOVQ,
Much of the 'art' for B&E revolves around the not getting busted for it, in the planning and preparing for the job. Some homes require a greater degree of real skill to successfully penetrate (and depart from) than others.

Now, to Pen15 and his horse sucking friend...

"..... A friend and I are getting ready to pull off a house job and are wondering if anyone can give us any advice on gaining entry through windows silently......"

Rule NO. 1 : If you're gonna do stuff like this, you don't advertise. Period. You're not as anonymous as you think.... on the net, or anywhere else. If you posted this as a hypothetical brainstorming thing, chances are very good that you would have gotten more positive responses than what youve experienced so far. The way it stands now, those of us who DO know something aren't going to say anything. If we did, then we become criminally liable.

"..... We want this to be almost as professional as possible for our amount of experience......."

The amount of professionalism displayed will be evidenced by
A) The amount of preparation and planning you do before said job, and
B) How you react, and what you do, if you're caught in the act by the homeowners. The more you work on (A) the less you may have to worry about (B).

"..... It`s easy money people. Thats what it boils down to......."

Bullshit. No such thing as easy money, especially in something like this. All money carries a price tag... Any ex-con can tell you this.

"..... These people are very rich. They have numerous amounts of expensive electronic equipment, and many other trinkets of value......."

So you know them? Then a buttload of social engineering is in order before you do anything. At the same time, your chances of getting busted just grew exponentially. Statistically, approximately 50-60 percent of the dopes caught for B&E knew the victim and had been in the house before (figures from USDOJ). The cops know this too.

Theres no way anybody could really give you any decent advice with the information you had provided so far about the house. Matter of fact, youd described nothing about the house, yard, neighborhood, etc.. So if you wanted someone to give you decent answers, then you should have given a decent description.

.. So any knowledge that can be shared about window and door entry, and/or alarms would be greatly appreciated. ..

Dang man, ya got a couple months? Any clue how many different types of windows, glasses, doors, and alarms there are? HAhaha..

Basically, you fucked yourself as soon as you posted the situation as you did. Good Luck, and tell Carlos and Manuel in cell-block C I said "Hey!"

Hey I know a real good way to get into a house. It is fuckin perfect, an it avoids setting off any alarms, unless you are up against motion sensors, which in that case you are out of your leauge (an mine) to begin with. It is a relativly simple way. All you need is a plunger and a relativly sharp knife.

(1) Attach the plunger via the suction cup to the window, to where the handle is facing out. It is best if you have a partner to hold the handle. Be sure that it is securly attached. Have your partner hold it.
(2) Using the knife, pry out the rubber window sealant that is in place in the frame all around the window. I have worked for a maintentnce company and had to remove windows often. Peel all the rubber strip away. Save it for later replacement
(3) The plunger attached to the glass will stop the glass from falling and breaking when the final rubber strip holding the glass is taken out, as well as allowing for easy removal/ reinstallation when that time comes.
(4) It will not trigger any alarms that are on the window frames themselves, because the frame of the window does not move at all. Take out the glass using the plunger, which is stuck to the glass.
(5) Enter the house, do your buisness, get the fuck out
(6) Remove all marks on the glass. Replace the glass. Put the striping back into place. They will be baffled as to how you got in.

It is preffered that you have an escape plan in mind when executing this procedure, as it may arise some suspision from do-gooder neighboors, in case a quick exit is most advisable. Good Luck!

"..... Using the knife, pry out the rubber window sealant that is in place in the frame all around the window. ....."

For old houses and crappy windows, that may work. Only place I've seen rubber seals on windows was on some trailers. And most competent people who have windows using silicone glazing compounds to seal and hold their windows in place also use glaziers points (little metal triangles that are jammed into the wooden window frame that stick out in front of the glass to hold it in place). That stuff can't be put back. We won't even get into those who use a glazing putty that hardens in place.

Since his assertion is that they're rich, they will likely have energy efficient windows/frames. That technique will not work on them. The frames cover the glass (almost always tempered) far enough that removing the glass is a dead option.

"..... It will not trigger any alarms that are on the window frames themselves, because the frame of the window does not move at all......"

Many "well to do" homeowners that actually have alarm systems professionally (and competently) installed also use foil on the glass. If the glass is broken or removed, the foil is broken, which triggers the alarm. That, however, is easily checked for.

This technique also doesn't cover noise & acoustic glass break sensors, many of which nowadays can be adjusted for the amount of noise needed to trigger them.

"..... unless you are up against motion sensors ....."

Depending on how they're setup, they can sometimes be defeated. Photoelectric beams can also be a problem (but still defeatable).

"..... They will be baffled as to how you got in......"

The homeowners maybe. The cops.... for all of about 10 minutes or so.
