Re: Fingerprints
Fingerprints are left because of the oils of your hand are pressed into the object. Just wash it with a wet rag and optional:soap. I believe that works, honestly I'm not 100 percent sure.

Re: Fingerprints
Any soffactant (sp?) like soap will do for jsut the fingerprints, but bare in mind it's not just oil, fingerprints are made of your body chemicals and shit.
Unless your a chemist with a good proffessional or research rating, you'll not be able to buy a strong acid from any of the chemical suppliers, and the stuff in schools will be no more than 2 molar, so that wouldn't help.
If its a hard smooth suface, put the bomb body in an enclosed area, like a box, and then cut the top off a tube of superglue. Put one close to the other. Leave. Come back, and you'll see your finger prints. Use a scalpel blade to scrape them off. Wear latax rubber gloves.
Best source of gloves: buy a piercing/tatoo/fetish magasine. small ad's at the back will have plenty of places selling 100's and 500's really cheap.

Re: Fingerprints
I heard alchohol take finger prints off, just rub it. Since finger prints is oil (or the lack of something from a surface full of something) the alchohol would get rid of the oil, or get rid of the entire surrounding area of whatever substance is missing.

Re: Fingerprints
About a year ago i read a post on a forum, a bit too advanced to me, but i BELIEVE it described how to remove your current fingerprints from your FINGERS and put new ones on somehow.

Re: Fingerprints
heres how you change your prints. first get a needle, poke 3 small pricks in ur fingers, just the 1 layer. not so u bleed. Go to the store buy a real pineapple, put your pricked fingers on a slice for about 30 minutes and the citric acid will eat away at it from the inside and change your prints.

Re: Fingerprints
If your fingerprints are not on file then they would have nothing to match them up to.
Additionally it would take some properity damage or injury incured by a bystander before LE calls out a forensic team to obtain prints.

Re: Fingerprints
Really?
A scene wouldn't be dusted if there was no injury or damage? Didn't know that. I suppose I kinda imagined that everything would get dusted. But then, I've never been in a situation where I've needed to worry about it.

Re: Fingerprints
Find some latex gloves or the rubber kind people use to clean their house with. i rent them, with option to buy. Also, I would think that if your crater maker detonated, the heat from the blast (granted it's small but still) or the tiny little shock wave produced or the friction caused by putting it into dirt would smear the prints or make them unable to be Identified. but don't take my word I could be wrong
