someone stole something from my house and I know exactly who it is, so my plan is to steal my shit back. But I need information about where and how I can get myself a lock pick set. I've been to most of the major sites that sell pick sets, but they usually say that you have to be a locksmith or a student. So how the hell do I get myself a pick set? I know it takes practice to pick locks even with the picks, but I want to get the picks so i can at least practice.

I'm sure there are stores that sell them. Just as long as you use cash you should be fine. If not, I know theres a way to build your own, I'm just not sure how.

hair pins......

if you know how a lock could be picked,
then it is simple, you can even make a set
of picks on the spot using the lock with
paperclip.

2 main component of lock picks
1)tension wrench
2)feeler pick

tension wrench: use to supply a turning
force on the key hole(the little circle
with the key hole which turns)

feeler picks: use to pick the pins in the
lock, there are a few types of feeler picks,
raking pick, double head raker, and standard.

I would try to draw a plan for how you could
make lock picks, type down your e-mail in the
next reply, I would mail it to you ASAP....

NOTE: the lock pick I could teach you to make
is very simple, it may not be very effective
against expensive locks (or I dont have the

That's true. I made a set of five picks and a tension wrench out of clay cutters (perfect!) and a bent screwdriver. I don't use them a lot cause I tend to just do things less smooth. But they work really well. The clay shapers are thin wooden handles with thin stiff metal wire on the ends. If you can find them you're probably lucky cause mine are from my childhood...

Why do you want to pick the lock? there are alot easier ways to get into a house, (smash a window), But if you really want to pick the lock i must inform you it isnt very easy and it will take you alot of practice, study, money and then once you can do it, it will still take quite a while - that seems like a lot of hassle when you could just smash the window. Or buy a lock pick gun they dont always work but its alot easier to do and quicker.

I have tried and suceeded in making a feeler pick and tension wrench out of a 5 cm long
paperclip....
They works quite well(not very sturdy)
but I can still open desk locks with it...

and pick the lock to enter a building draw

first of all, i'm not breaking in. That's too much of an offence for me. The bastard who stole my shit entered in through a window, but he still did not break in. Believe it or not i'm actually friends with the guy. So i gotta get in there with out breaking anything. That's why i want to pick the lock to enter.

Oh, and the lock that i'm trying to open is a 5-pin pin-tumbler lock. So i need a pick and a tension wrench. Also, can somebody also tell me the difference between the few types of feeler picks, raking picks, and what other types of picks there are. And what the hell is the rake for?

I've made a pick out of a paperclip and used a knife for a tension wrench, i've been able to pick the first couple pins but i can't usually keep them in place. The pin's usually pop back in place. Many sites say you should pick them from back to front. I was picking them from front to back. Does anyone know what would be easier? front to back or back to front.

Theres many ways to get your shit back without breaking in. If hes your friend and he trusts you shit thats like taking candy from a baby.

1.Go round his for a drink, Mickey finn him and take your shit back and his, just tell him he got really pissed and must have left the door open -(leave the door open when you leave) tell him you left when he went down the shop.

2.Invite him round yours mickey finn him take his keys and get a copy cut (might not even need to drug him).
