Re: favorite guitar?
Of my guitars....
Best? Definately my Ibanez RG570 w/Dimarzio Evolutions, and some nice custom work on the fretboard, with new Strat-shaped frets.
Favorite? Either the '54 Strat, or the ES135.

Re: favorite guitar?
My favorite guitar is my butterscotch Telecaster (brass saddles and plate), it is just a Squier, but it is a 84 Japanese Squier, made during a brief period when the Japanese models were so close to the American that Fender eventually yanked their liscence. I also own a Cort, which is a great, easy to play, not particularly expensive guitar.

Re: favorite guitar?
Yes, Seymour Duncan pickups are good, I'd say second only to DiMarzio.

Re: favorite guitar?
I'd say an old yellow telecaster with the B-Bender string bender attached, just like old Clarence White.

Re: favorite guitar?
I am about to buy a new guitar, price range $800-$1200 CDN$, I play punk and want a good "stay in tune" axe. Just once I would like half decent intonation, too. Any suggestions?

Re: favorite guitar?
If you're playing punk, and need a stay in tune guitar...don't get one, get two. Seriously, if you want ultra low maintenace, just get two guitars (or more).
But as for what guitar you want, I'd say (in that range) an Ibanez would be the most for your money.
Also, I'd recommend NOT getting something with a Floyd Rose bridge, if you go to a guitar shop the salesman might say "Yeah, they'll never go out of tune". Well, that may be true for one or two songs, but after that, they're just too much work. Don't get me wrong, if you do a lot of violent things when your whammy bar and bens, a floyd rose is the way to go, but otherwise, screw it.

Re: favorite guitar?
id go with any fernandes. there shit rocks.
if i were you id get a native elite. that will play anything hard, or semi-light.
or if you think its too "hard", then a gibson les paul. can't go wrong with les paul's.

Re: favorite guitar?
i could never in a million years betray my gibson les paul custom, but alot of players especially newcomers dont need to spend thousands of dollars right off the back, what they say about floyd roses is very true, so i would stear away from most esp's and ibanez, ive found that for the price on a newer guitar (i dont particualry care for most of them myself) but my neigbhor recently purchase a bc rich and upgraded with seymor duncans it does carry a nice tone both clean and distored, but i suppose its not very usefull if you enjoy playing with a whammy
