Anyone listen to the REAL Alternative Music
I love bands like Concrete Blonde, The Cruxshadows, Diva Destruction, This Ascension, Razed in Black, Sisters of Mercy, and even though they are no longer together I like Switchblade Symphony. I listen to other so called Goth bands but those are my favorites. Unfortunately they get little to no air play and are totally ignored. MTV, VH1, and Much only seem to play the top 20 or so music and videos and way to much CRap and Hip Hop...

Re: Anyone listen to the REAL Alternative Music
the problem, imo, is that popular music is so engrained into normal life, it'll never go away..
we'll never get emo, or original punk style back on tv, much less anything heavy.

you forget "Loud" and "The Punk Show" on Much. Loud plays alot of heavy stuff, and some underground, rarely heard shit. I haven't seen the punk show, but they play alot of stuff I've never heard of.

In my opinion the best example of real Alternative is the Pixies.
They are a real awesome band.

Re: Anyone listen to the REAL Alternative Music
I think it takes quite some balls (which none of us have) to try and define something like 'alternative' music. Do you define it by its popularity? Its style? Its arrangement?
If we just define alternative as 'not pop' then well fuck my ass and call me a bitch, cause alternative music would make up about 98% of all existent music.
Trying to coin the term 'alternative' only let's you make a clich out of yourself, so why the fuck bother?
Just listen to what you like. We all know that there's far too much shit out there being aired, but it doesn't keep ya from doin your own shit, does it? Our current system is built on sheep and a sheep is sheep no matter from what angle.
Peace out, Lord Shadowcaster
