System of a Down's Jet Pilot
I listen to the song alot even though I have no idea what they are talking about. About all I can figure is that he has a bored horse that doesn't have a good view of the bay. Anyone have any idea what they are talking about, or is it just a cool sounding song with no real meaning?

Re: System of a Down's Jet Pilot
its a cool sounding song no doubt and i do think it has a meaning. i think he is talking about his negative viewpoint and comparing himself to the horse with a poor view. often times a song writer will mix bits and pieces of songs together into one. in fact every song with the exception of "lovesong" from the cure was written this way.

Re: System of a Down's Jet Pilot
this song has annoyed me because i never understood what the hell was meant to be happening in it.
here are my thoughts
My horse, is a shackled old man, His, his remorse, was that he couldn't survey, The skies, right before, Right before they went gray, My horse and my remorse, Flying over a great bay The horse is an old man. He is remorseful because he couldn't see the 'skies go grey'. The old man and the singer have the same problem (not seeing bad times ahead), both flying over a bay.
My, source, is the source of all creation, Her, discourse, is that we all don't survey The skies, right before, Right before they go gray, My source, and my remorse, Flying over a great bay, First line about god(?) 'Her' (if its about the same person it can't be god from a heavily religious band) is annoyed that no one can see bad things about to happen. And everyone is travelling accross the bay together.
Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot, One that smiled when he flew over the bay, Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot, One that smiled when he flew over the bay. Wired might mean that he cannot see anything except what he is aiming for, or his mission. Thats why he is happy, blissful ignorance, he doesn't see that things are about to turn bad.
of course, the song might be about nothing after all.

Re: System of a Down's Jet Pilot
this song is about the middle east and how they are oppresed by american involvement. The shackled horse represents the poor countires in the middle eaast that have lesser technology then the United states and the bay represents the persian gulf. as you know the united states has many air craft carriers in te gulf and the pilot flies over the bay to keep air superiority. and serges veiw point is agains the United states involvement in the Middle east and its affairs

Re: System of a Down's Jet Pilot
JET PILOT Serj: "Now, this particular song I'm going to elaborate on, because it needs it. There's a horse. Whose name used to be Otto, but that's not important right now. And his stable is right by this beautiful bay. He's always lived there. He's grown up there. And he's always wondered how it would feel to fly over the bay. And one day, this nice jet comes along. And the horse somehow makes eye contact with the jet pilot. And as the jet pilot is crossing over the bay, the horse, making eye contact with the jet pilot is able to view through the eyes of the jet pilot the beauty of the bay. Therefore, astral travelling."
Got that from here: http://pub43.ezboard.com/fsystemofadownonlinefrm2.showMessage?topicID=52.topic
Another interesting song meaning is bounce.
BOUNCE Serj: "It's about a pogo-stick orgy. That's exactly what it's about, there's no need for elaboration."
