musicians,

what would be your top 3 all time favorite bands to jam with? what kind of grooves inspire you? what bands write the baddest jam sessions around?

mine:
1. dave matthews band.
2. medeski, martin and wood.
3. led zeppelin.
4. sound tribe sector 9.
5. herbie hancock.

also, if you answer this, what do you play? how long?

peace.

In no particular order...

1. The guys Buckethead plays with.

2. Joe Satriani's band.

3. Yngwie Malmsteen's old band

4. Tenacious D (don't laugh, these guys can jam)

5. Tie between Derek and the Dominoes and Steve Vai.

If it was just one person, it'd probably be Joe Satriani, I'd probably learn the most from him. Don't get me wrong, I'd enjoy playing, but with his background as a teacher, I'd probably get more out of it.

And, quite obviously, I play guitar. Started playing when I was 7, kinda, but I've only been playing serious for 5 years.

Oh, and I'd like to play a guitar/whatever duet with Paganini.

i'd like to jam with:

1. tool
2. finger eleven
3. godsmack
4. red hot chili peppers
5. sublime.. if i could *rip bradley*

i'd love to just go off on a tangent with tool.. i think that would be the shit.

and i also play guitar.. for about 4 years now.. and i'm still not that good.. but i can do some stuff..

jimi hendrix
sublime
bob marley
tom petty
goldfinger

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Blind Guardian
Zack and Morelo out of RATM
Davies out of KoRn
Rammstein

hmm

Ratm
Paul McCartney
Ozzy Osborne
RHCP
and Weezer.

If only one, It would be difficult deciding between Paul and Rage...

In no certain order...

For various reasons, but mostly because these bands are known to jam out long and hard, which happens to be one of my favorite things to do.

And..
I've been a singer since I can remember and have played guitar for 8 years now. I've been in 3 bands and a barbershop quartet.

the ramones, bauhaus, the pixies, sebadoh, nirvana(back in their 4 track days for sure)

I would jam with.

The Doors
