does anyony like techno here? i would love your input

i do, trips me out, plus it's good high energy music to dance to

i hate generic techno. Who do you listen to?

yes "cheesy" techno is boring and stupid, but there is much good techno out there, as far as dj's i've moved away from the 1,2,3,4 trance beat into the mayhem of jungle, if you want good techno to really listen to try the orb, orbital, autechre, kraftwork, nightmares on wax, thievry corp, deep forest, deep sky (from my state), robert miles, sphongle, rabbit in the moon, mouse on mars, most of this i consider as good techno, the art form side of the music, not just the same beat, followed by the same break, so on... i'm always looking for more ambient techno, anyone hear of any good stuff in this field?

Aphex Twin and Coil are my favorite that i've heard. They're fuckign sweet.

I like Techno sometimes as i dont do drugs apart from weed it can be a little bit of a head wreck when your stoned. I have loved The Prodigy for years and there old stuff is really good. I prefer Drum and Bass the most but im not really that keen on Jungle.

Gorillaz are hip-hop as far as I know. But, it could be techno as well, techno isn't really a very descriptive term. To some people, "techno" is anything with synths and a drum machine, to some people, its a bit more defined.

dark ambient is different to techno techno. compare it to ambient techno fine, but not techno.

And Coil are not techno either, they are dark ambient/electronic industrial!!!!
Don't compare them to techno.

Mostly dark ambeint, ambient techno are more intelligent than the normal rubbish oh i have to be on drugs to enjoy it techno.

I am not into Techno as u can tell, lol, but i enjoy listening to Dark Ambient, Ambient Techno, Progressive Trance (most) and electronica.

generic techno is part of the worst music on earth(along with new country). but some nice trance or downtempo is cool

I have a very narrow definition of techno, and I don't really like it. It doesn't evoke feelings; it doesn't take you anywhere.

I will admit to being a Drum-and-Bass whore, though. Or Ambient, or Trip Hop, or some of the more symphonic stuff.

those who enjoy a funkier more organic blend of techno and downtempo might enjoy some of the new stuff ive done in acid and reason. im adding guitar, bass, and real drums to these slowly but surely. im also looking for talented musicians who play rare instruments to help me out on some of these projects. im looking for violin, trumpet, and some harmonica stuff if anyone has any leads to follow or is interested in a collaborative jam session, that would be choice. lemme know.

Coil is fucking bad ass, and if you've eever heard of psytrance, that shit is fucking awesome. Check it out, I don't know any bands specifically, but yeah.

I've always liked pretty generic techno. Its a nice little brain melter to just help you forget about everything yet think about everything. Thats the way it makes me feel anyway. Just chill out with a bit of hash will some pumping techno in the background- that is one of my heavens.

The other one consists of lots os balloons and a circus midget. Don't Ask.

Juno reactor is really good. Ambient is techno if the name techno is the catch all for electronic music. Techno has so many genres and subgenres it's not funny
