Default What's the "scene" in your town?

Here its : "punk and hardcore". Over half the kids here dont realize hardcore is a form of punk. Some kids like emo and even tried to sing it in local bands. (these emo kids are ones that cry about 9th grade. 12th sucks but i dont cry about it!)

the mainstream is god awful uplifting vocal house but the underground is techno and electro with a dash of hip hop and drum n bass.

The scene here definately sucks. Back when I was just starting high school, there were really good punk shows, filled with beer, spit, bruises, titties and all those other good things. But now its degraded to crappy shows with emo bands and lame wusses with hoodies and handbags.

Occasionaly theres cool stuff like drum sessions in the park with hippies, or open mike nights at the local artist centre.

Punk and hardcore, that'd be nice...

It's a pop-punk frenzy in Cleveland, and it makes me fucking sick.

Rap and punk that sounds suspiciusly like pop to me. I hate the wanna-be gangster rappers. Rich white kids pretending to be from the ghetto.

where I live, the most popular scene would have to be nu-metal, eminemesque rap, and punk. Can't wait till this wave dies off completely.

Mostly rock/metal. Here in Toronto there was Death Fest 3, fucking amazing show...

Check out:
www.poundedfaceless.cjb.net

If you live in Toronto search Cactus Studios...

Next show is called WeedFest, dunno when though. Think it's December 22nd...

Default Re: What's the "scene" in your town?

The "scene" out here is the "indie" scene, which is such a cop out because how can the independants become the mainstream scenesters?

We've got a lot of phoney bullshit going on out here like that though. Like this bar: Zietgiest. It's supposed to be a dive and they make it look all dirtty and divy, but it's really a trendy bar and trendy indie kids go drink Shmirnoffs Ice there and call it a dive.

Lamers.

Cheers,
Lost

The big clubs are pop and techno mostly, with the occasional rockers. We have two stadium venues, so we get our share of national touring acts, and we have two new medium-size venues that draw a lot of good has-beens and up-and-comers. The smaller clubs are rock (metal, classic, punk), blues, hip-hop. There's one big C&W club that I know of.

There's a real good variety and a lot of original material here.

humm well here i am surrounded by people who are into shit music like club, dance, garage, rnb all that kind of music, and all the clubs are suited to these genres.

There are a few clubs but they only have a club night every last thursday of the month for example, its a pain, all the other clubs happen every single night!!!!

A place where all the goths use to hang out near me is now taken over by skaterpunks and nu metal fans. 15 and under, lol.

oh i feel so alone, lol.
