Can anybody enighten me on what's up with Audio Galaxy, at least the FTP part of it?

Was it shut down by outside pressure [ala Napster]?

Is it a temp. situation?

That was the last good way I had for such activities.

They have a firewall up here which prevents use of such stuff as WinMX, and others.

Though When I worked for Pfizer a few years back, they had a fire wqall ro, but I used a sockserver [I believe that's what it was] to get around it - don't know [but don't think] it would work on this one.

audiogalaxys pretty much dead now - like everything copyrighted is unavailable for download, its a shame really because it was the only real place to get fairly obscure music from, but if your into electronic then try www.soulseek.org

audiogalaxy was shut down because of a lawsuite filed by thr RIAA. audiogalaxy isn't officially dead yet, as they can trade only songs that they have express written permission for.

so that means very few.

i think it has an appeal coming up, but i doubt that it will achieve anything. the RIAA is really starting to get annoying. maybe they should stop picking on the internet (net radio and sharing) and start trying to get lower the price of records. id buy it insted of downloading if it was 1/3 the price. also, nmost people know that the actual artists get shit all from sales, so why would you want to buy it anyway.
