My kid has a nice open mind and good taste in music. He likes punk and is always buying cd's listening to them and then keeping, I'd say about 1/2...anyway can you guys please suggest some bands and the cd's that you have found to be killer of late? I'm a little outta touch, been listening to old Boz Scaggs lately....but I know that the people in this forumn are up to speed with the not so famous or on the way to being widely reknowned bands that have stuff out and might be playing live shows....

Thanks

does he have all the clasics?

is he only in to punk?

...

I spend a lot of time at, and suggest:
www.totalpunkradio.com

you can just listen and if you hear something that seems good you can basically request the rest of the album by that band or any of their other albums to really see if it's for you or not. A taste of what you're gonna buy...

id say if he is into punk get him the new NOFX cd it came out like last week. it is called "45 or 46 songs" or something like that.

I would tell him to check out
Ducky Boys - No Gettin Out
Hudson Falcons - despertaion and Revolution
Leftover Crack - Medicore Generica
Tiger Army - Power of Moonlite
Against All Authority - Nothing new for trash like you
Agnostic Front- Riot Riot Upstart
maybe that can help

I been into every kind of punk, but have ended up listening alot to these bands;
subhumans
the foamers
leftover crack
choking victim
shootin goon
the exploited
uk subs
lubby nugget
ex-cathedra
conflict
capdown
citizen fish
.... i think half of them are british but get em all anyway.
u r such a sweet lovely nice kind dad to av.
agwgwgah

Why is it that no one has mentioned The Ramones?

As far as I'm concerned they still rule

Dropkick Murphys "Do or Die"
Rancid "...and out come the wolves"
Bad Religion "All Ages"

that's enough for a while

You should encourage him to join Totse if he's soo open minded. Just a thought.

Seaweed
Big Drill Car
Doughboys
Jawbox
Lungfish
SamIam
All
Rival Schools
Quicksand
AGs (If anyone knows where I can get ahold of their music let me know)
Marvelous 3(not punk but cool as hell)
Rocket From the Crypt

try kittie and mindless self indulgence, and umm...dont pay heed to the parental advisory stickers, theyre only there for show =p

I'd have to say millencolin's greatest hits collection, has about 20 songs on it or so, i love it, and im mostly a metal/old rock type o person.
